Haha I had the same problem here. And when I decided to put it on in the back first a plate dropped as I was installing another one!

I never put my front plate on. I got lucky and stopped the dealership from even drilling the mounts.

run without it.

But don't go to LAX. They began ticketing for no front plates some time ago.

You mean moving cars? Or parked in the airport parking?

i just got both my plates and reg in the mail today. I live in norcal. I put both plates in the trunk under the cardboard lid, and put the new permanent registration in the glove box.

The temp reg is good for 6 months, so just cuz i got my plates in 2 weeks doesn't mean they have to go on.

This worked on my truck, I got pulled over with the current reg in the glove box and the plates under the seat. I handed the cop my current reg, he ran it, and called it good. Let me off on a warning for running a stop sign, too. I'm sure if the cop wasn't as nice a guy as he was I woulda gotten a slap on the wrist for it. Other nice part about cali, $10 fix it tickets for whatever.

Is it required to have plates on the front in CA? There are cops all over the place in my city and they never even bant an eye at me. I have the chrome BMW emblem plate with a chrome BMW frame on the front and my real plate on the back.

If you choose to run no license plates at all, I believe the fine is usually a small fix-it ticket, but the cop also has the option of a more expensive $100+ ticket. I forget what the violation is for this actual ticket however.

HAHAHA Exactly. And I'm Def Not Getting An Accidental Red Light Ticket By Those Annoying Cameras. . . Not That I Run Red lights Or Anything. . . But. . . When Making A Left Turn, and there's a ton of traffic, and i've already been sitting at a red light watching it go through its cycle and get the red like five times because only 2 cars make their left turn cause the 3rd one isn't paying a damn bit of attention because she's talking on her sidekick3 while filing her nails and reapplying her lip gloss. . . I may just happen to go through the light when its on its way from turing red from yellow. . .

Whats the reasoning behind have a front plate only in certain states? It just makes no sense.
