Wooing noise from steering wheel when manoeuvring at slow speed!
Hello people another question. Have anyone experience an WOOING noise while manoeuvring at slow speed e.g. when you try to park into a space.
I believe the noise is occurring from the steering area, is this possibly due to lack of power steering oil or is there some kind of fiction that may need some kind of lubrication to reduce the friction. I am completely clueless when it comes to things like this, hope you guys can help an novice like me kind regards |

My 2008 330d makes bit of a 'wooooing' noise at low speeds and dry steering. I not think it is anything to worry about...many cars make this noise I'm my experience and I may be wrong but I believe there is increased assistance at low speeds? If the steering was to become notchy then I would be more worried.

How old is this car?
Most recent cars have ELECTRIC assisted power steering racks (absence of steering oil reservior under bonnet) I suspect its the electronics you can hear, and is perfectly normal

If its the fancy electrical set up then the wooing noise might just be the mechanical working its magic inside the steering rack thingy right????? |

You'll have conventional hydraulic powered steering - first thing I'd check is the hydraulic fluid level.
