Hello, does anyone has any experience with california water blade used for drying the car ???

I was a professional detailer for a while and I recommend using the blade for a few reasons.

First, the blade is made well and the material will not scratch the surface - be sure that the contact surface is clean and free of particles, soap and water before use is adequate.

Second, the blade minimizes the amount of towel contact the paint surface sees. If you dry the car with a towel...it will take quite a while and in the process can lead to swirl marks. Carefully using the blade will swipe water away like your windshield wiper and reduce swirlmark production.

Third, the blade allows you to dry the car faster...go over the major body panels with the blade the detail and dry the remaining portions of the vehicle with your microfiber cloth - this speed in itself is an advantage, now supposing you are not drying the car in direct sunlight and/or while the vehicle's surface is hot...you will avoid water marks from natural drying, and again swirlmarks.

As you can see the blade has many advantages over traditional drying techniques. I have used the blade for many years now and have been very happy with it, drying the car is no longer the long arduous job it once was.

The blade cuts the drying time down significantly--very useful. I've never seen any adverse effects--love mine!

You'll need to be 101% sure your car is completely clean and free of any kind of larger particles (stuck on sand, bits and pieces) stuck on your car's body before you use it.

To improve the use of the blade I spray mine with Meguirs Quick Detail Spray after every few passes - I find it lubricates the blade and makes it move more smoothly - kind of glides - I love mine - makes the whole drying process easier.

i actually just ordered a california duster yesterday haha so we'll see.

you relaly need something for those days inbtwn washes with a black car. i know if i park my car in the garage for a day or two it'll be covered in dust.

I use one from Griot's Garage. It could be better made (foam blade comes out from the handle a lot), but it saves signifiant time drying, and you use fewer towels! No water spots, swirls, or streaks.

California blade is THE best 20 bucks you will spend on a car care product. It is especially helpful if you sometimes go to the car wash. I go to a hand-wash/brushless place and tell them not to use their towels, then i spend two minutes with the blade and im ready to go

I have a blade and have used it for years. Than someone suggest just driving around the block at a good speed. Since then I haven't really seen the need. Just drive around the block and use a my good old chaimois. But the Blade never left any marks on my old e46.

I've used one for a few years. never had any problems or scratching. Makes it easier and faster to dry the car. I follow it up by then using "The Absorber" artificial chamois.

yup, I've been using a blade for years, top to bottom, really cuts down on drying time, then I use a soft chamois to dry the rest
