Mystery Issue..!!!!???!!!! Please Help!!!!

It was raining all week here, i had my car parked in my garage for the whole time. When the rain finally stopped I decided to go on a drive to stretch my babies legs. As I backed out of the garage I got out of the car to get my mail, when I got back in the car, it was misfiring like there was no tomorrow. I immediately turned off the vehicle and turn it back on, and it was completely normal. While it was misfiring the engine light came on, but when I scanned the car it said no codes present. Has something like this happened to anyone else? Should I bring it in to the dealer? It is driving fine now. Thanks in advance

sounds like HPFP problems. take it to the dealer if it happens again. Strange though no codes.

I just had the HPFP done, it wasnt acting up at that time but I did it anyway. Maybe that was a mistake. I was also thinking maybe some moisture from the garage. It flooded in my area.

All problems like this stem from:

HPFP
LPFP
Vanos Solenoids
Injectors
Coilpacks
Spark Plugs (replace every 20-25K).

The vehicle is still covered under the cpo warranty, but how would they be able to trace anything if there no code anymore?

Wait till it happens again unfortunately. What device did you use to check codes? Those universal scanners dont show all the codes. Did you check shadow codes?

Sounds like a leaky injector if it was misfiring on cold start. Or water got in your intercooler and is now gone.

Yea those universal gadgets wont show hidden codes. This DME stores shadow codes which are hidden. The car wont throw a CEL until it sees those codes repeated 3x i believe.

Get yourself a Bavarian Technic Tool if you want to see all the codes or wait for it to happen again.

Got a bad tank of gas once on trip in Washington state, (service station had been flooded) and had the exact same thing happen. After the tank was gone so were the problems.

Either injectors or coils I'd say. Yea the DME stores the errors. INPA or Autologic will read it out. Bring it in and let them fix it if you're CPO

You have to replace the plugs that often?

I can take it in, even if the engine light is no longer on? It has been driving fine so far.

Yes, if the engine is in a high state of tune and you want to have a strong spark and prevent misfires.
