Smile Ordered Evolve tune Friday

I ordered the Evolve-r tune Friday. Heard great things about this company and they have a great rep in the UK. Now, just anxiously awaiting for it to ship. Will give more updates when I get it installed and on the dyno.

Installed my tune yesterday. Didn't notice the difference immediately but today I noticed it and it is a huge difference. Feels like a completely different car now. Power feels significantly increased across the whole tach and is silky smooth. My car is a beast now. Evolve certainly knows what they are doing. Their customer service is second to none as well. They were extremely helpful. Gonna get it on the dyno next Wednesday and see where I'm at.

Heard a lot of good things about them. A buddy of mine has their tune on his M3 and was impressed with it. He told me their customer service was great too. These guys are really knowledgable. Their power curves are spread out across the whole tach. They are huge over in the UK. They also have a lot of history of tuning BMW's. I wanted to go with someone who had a lot of experience with these cars. They should have a Stage 2 coming out in a few months. Here is an article about them in BMW Magazine regarding the 335i and 335d they tuned:

On the dyno charts I've seen stock with only the tune they are putting around 330 at the wheels and much more with bolt ons.

Are they tuning for the US with US cars in the US, and US fuel, or are they simply bench tuning an existing UK development?

I really don't know. I know they have a US website as well as the UK website. They offer more mods on the UK website. The only thing they offer on their US site as of now is the tune. I did have it tuned for 93 Octane. Basically, when you read your ECU and email them the file you have to let them know whether you want: Rev limiter deleted, Top Speed limiter deleted, Cat Delete, and what Octane fuel you will be running....then they tune the car specifically to adjust the mapping on your specific ECU and email the file to you to download through your OBDII port.

I'm interested if anyone on here has the Evolve Stage 2 (or as they call it stage 3) as they are currently offering it here in the UK with 410-420bhp which I'm guessing is around 380-390rwp and similar torque levels

Info from last year:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=342704

Just a shame they aren't looking into supporting meth as I asked a few weeks ago

410 - 420 bhp is not 380 - 390 whp,

Its more like 335 - 345 whp

370 bhp is roughly 305 whp depending on transmission etc..

Hi,

To make life a bit easier we actually work in +HP/+TQ because cars can put down different HP on different days depending on what the end CR is.

So, we quote approx +60hp.

The majority of cars make 305-310 Flywheel Calculated HP with Dyno Dynamics shoot out mode (Shoot 6F).

A stage 1 evolve tuned car will make around 370 flywheel calculated HP in the same mode keeping everything consistent.

Now, given that BMW quote this car to have 306 flywheel HP, I would say the dyno dynamics machine in shoot 6F has this pretty well calculated.

Bare in mind also that the following cars make the below flywheel estimated HP on our dyno:

E9x M3 - 405-416hp
E60 M5 - 495-505hp
E46 M3 - 325-335hp (euro)
E39 M5 - 385-390 hp
E36 M3 3.2 - 305-316hp (euro)
E34 M5 3.8 - 330-335hp
E30 M3 - 190-200hp

These are the average results over the last 5 years.

Irrespective of what the baseline is, the important thing here is the GAIN in power.
What does our tune do on a dynojet? We will find out shortly but the only relevant information is what the car we tune makes as a baseline and what it makes tuned.
