Caliper colour

Ok good people of e90post, what colour should i do my calipers?

This is my plans, the CSL alloys will be coming in the next few weeks.

I was originally thinking yellow as i am putting JDM yellow film over my fogs, but ive got a monster energy sticker on my rear window, so i was thinking the possibility of Kawasaki lime green.

Neither. I would go with black.

Yellow film over your fogs sounds like an awful thing to do, why would you want to make it look like a cheap boy racer car.

Why not use a light smoke tint if you want to do anything.

Perhaps silver rather than black on a black car, but definitely not green or yellow.

Hello fellow NI owner! I can see your thinking behind the colours, but think itd be a bit much on an e90 - I can picture it on a black gallardo or something though.

Its a difficult one - trying to find a colour that'll stand out without being really mad, but maybe thats what you want.... a bit of something more extreme. If so, fire on ahead!

Id be tempted by a light slightly bluey-grey (just enough to lift them from the colour of the alloys)

Make sure you post pics when its done, in case we're all wrong and it looks great!

There's no option for "neither because they're both stupid"?

I have seen this condition before, its a very simple solution:

A) If you have the monster multi-piston calipers from Alcon they ought to be red, or the matt flint grey if you get Brembo

B) If you have the BMW Performance ones they should be that god awful but curiously cool mustard yellow colour.

All other colours and iterations will just shout "Look at me, I want monster brakes but I'm too tight / poor / stupid to buy them"

Just leave 'em alone for chrissakes.

lol spot all the bores who follow the crowd. Shoot me now for wanting to make my car stand out a little over all the other boring rep cars.

You need to sit back and think about the definition of chavy, its huge fibreglass bodykits, not a splash of paint on the calipers.

Oh and thats not my house, its an empty community hall

I don't understand.

Why buy a boring rep car in the first place then?

A dog born in a stable is not a horse.

I also think both options will look shit.

Although from what I've seen in my time in NI it wouldn't look out of place even if you painted flames down the side and added a spoiler.

I reckon yellow will be fine, just hints that the car has big stoppers. looks better than doing nothing.

Why a 'monster' sticker though?

Green gets my vote,
I have no idea how old you are but...... If I was in my teens or early twenties modding an e90 would have been a dream come true, and it will probably knock that peer group out. However there wont be much love for pimpin' out our family wagon (well mine is) on here.

It appears the monster stickers are in at the mo, my friend has just painted the logo on a supra. Enjoy the mods, I think this could look ok.

Oh to be young again.

What you've yet to learn is 95% of the people who will see you car will simply see a BMW and think youre either a wanker or in the best case scenario a well off wanker.

Start putting stickers all over it and they'll see a chav.

The other 5% are 14-22 year old spotty oiks and they'll love it but I don't think you really want to attract that crowd.
