I am planning to order Procede for my 335xi as soon as Vishnu confimrs that it has been tested on an xi model.

A related question is whether Procede adujsts to altitude automatically or if a different map is required for locations like mine (Boulder CO - 5400 ft).

Anyone know? Shiv?

Any regulated turbo system will mostly adjust itself for air density (due to heat, altitude, or other). People also claim the factory ECU will kick in another psi or two to make up for the pumping loses, and that should pass through in all the piggy back systems (TT, Xede, or Procede).

except that they max out the available boost in the higher rpms, so there no longer room for that extra bit of increase from the ECU

Bullsh!t, I live in Colo Springs, you are going to need the lower boost map or your engine light will come on under hard acceleration over 3rd gear.

The PROcede works great up there. We already have quite a few running in CO.

We have customers who have tested the standard proced map up to 11000' above sealevel. There should be need to run a special map.

Yeah that is true, at some point you'll run too far outside the efficency range of the turbo.

I know people who have run PROcede v 1.4 at 12,000 feet no problem.

In my experience living at 5500ft, the turbo's struggle to make the same delta from stock at high rpm. The turbos are overspinning & generating more heat. They may make the same delta in torque, but in general they will peak a bit earlier at elevation & die a bit earlier as well. We found that water injection tends to make it a bit more efficient & give back some of the losses at high rpm. Has anyone tried water on a 335?

No need to run the lower boost target map unless the car has problems hitting the standard boost targets. And that is unlikely. Only 3-4% of the cars run into that. None of the high altitude cars, as far as I know, needed to run the lower boost target map.

Tricky, how often did your 335 throw the code? Or said another way, how many times did it happen before you went with the lower boost map?

At first it was sparatic, but for some reason as the weather got warmer and the engine hit around 230 and I punched it, when I hit about 5th gear it would go off all the time. I downloaded the new map v1.45 lbt and it hasn't happened at all. There is no difference in power, the car is a frikin monster.
