Meth or IC
Pretty much convinced my next mod will need to be meth. Currently running std intercooler and had been thinking of the bigtom one.
QUestion is if i fit meth would it take away the need for the intercooler or should I do the intercooler first then go with the meth. Climate here is nothing like as hot as a lot of you guys get and in winter its zero or below A LOT and the car pulls better. Summer is rarely over 70f for any more than a few days here and there. Still notice the IAT going up higher in summer though My dilema is its near enough winter already so why not go straight for meth but come summer and if I run the car off meth it would be an idea to have the cooler for using stronger maps. So meth now and add a cooler in the spring? Somebody convince me LOL Install on both looks easy and the BMS meth kit will integrate with the jb4 |

I would go for meth it's the biggest bang for the back. That coupled with the fact that the weather where you are is rarely over 70F, I would not worry about the stock intercooler. Your performance driving will be mainly done with the meth activated and given your temps, I wouldn't worry about the intercooler. Realistically, it's good to have both especially when a solid intercooler can be had for rather cheap but in this case, I'd go for the meth.

Some people, on other platforms, have done away with the intercooler entirely after adding water/meth injection. This reduces the pressure drop that occurs across any brand of intercooler.
Just something to think about since you live in a cool climate. Temps rarely above 70 F sounds like winter here in Dallas. lol

Cheers Jeff/Max and everyone, think it looks like the meth is a clear winner so will def head that way and see how it goes. Trouble will be keeping the bottle from freezing up cos I regularly go out in the morning and its 10F |

A bigger intercooler is your first priority. It will give you great repeatability while accelerating and keep things cooler under the hood. Are you intended to spray meth all the time? Too risky for the engine. I would leave meth injection for last after getting fully FBO

Meth is choice #1 since it cools intake air and boost octane for more power. A better IC is also a very good investment for consistent power and to ease the life for the turbos.
