Saw the promo for the new 118i. The new car does look more attractive than the old 1 series. What seems to be even more attractive is the inline 4 with twin-turbo which made it eligible for tax concessions.

Do you know whether the base model of the new 3-series will also come with this engine and may become eligble for the tax concession?

Maybe its time to save up.

all base model for new 3 series F30 will comes with L4 1.6-2.0 turbo engine, L6 3.0 NA or L6 3.0 turbo will be reserved for higher preimum model like current 330i or 335i

I guess L6 3.0 NA (N52/N53) would be discontinued.

I also went to the showroom, the 1 series look better in person then the photos, and I do quite like the interior alot. However, the exterior still looks rather odd and ugly from head-on view, although the side view it looks better somewhat. I think it shares the same chassis as the upcoming F30.

I just cant stand with the new 1 series' headlights, just pure ugly. Would love to see they have L6 2.5L turbo too..
