(GVA) Break replacement
My car is due for a rear break replacement in aprox. 6,000 KM's
I took it to autowest they quoted a little under $500 parts and labour. Does that sounds fair? or is there any other places that can do it for cheaper in Vancouver area? thanks! |

Do a little research, and order the parts yourself for a fraction of the cost, then take it to any shop. Total cost to you should be less than $300, unless you're replacing the rotors as well.

I'd recommend going to BMW Langley if you want to stay OEM; They are new so they will try to give you the best price they can. They quoted me for $530 for my front rotors/pads, whereas Autowest quoted me for about $600 I think.

I got quotes for fronts; you are being quoted for rears...Rears are cheaper than fronts. Call up BMW Langley and tell them to give you a quote. If it's less than Autowest but less convenient for you to go all the way out to Langley, call Autowest back up and tell them Langley is giving it to you for $____.

I just had my rear brakes done at BJ. They replaced the rotors and sensors too. The final bill including tax was $465. Took about 2 hours while I waited. They give you a free meal too while you wait. Good service.

Brian Jessel quoted me $512. Autowest quoted me $594 and did not offer to match the price Brian Jessel was giving me. Langley quoted me $527 but matched the price Brian Jessel was giving me ($512) I have to say: I have had my BMW for 6 years now and Autowest has always quoted me the highest prices of all the dealerships I call. |

I just got front and rear Power Slot rotors and Stop Tech pads for $600 shipped to Point Roberts. I'm sure they'll be better than OEM if you guys wanna give that a try.
