Mixing Meth to Water??? By Volume or Weight??
any info on this..ive been searching on how to properly mix the meth to water concentration..when i seen people running 50/50 or 70/30 meth to water, are you guys basing this off by Volume or Weight. anybody got a sure-fire way to mix

A lot of info abt this if u google it. From different forums too, With that said the easiest way for me is volume. I believe almost everyone here does it by volume too.

VoCo + VaCa - VdCd = VfCf
Vo = Volume original Co = Concentration original a = add d = drain f = final This formula allows you to add/drain at different concentrations and know what the final concentration will be. |

yeah from what i gathered through google searching prior to starting this post was by weight is correct..and by weight its a little more confusing how to calculate the proper mixture..by volume is obviously the easier method. I was mainly looking for someone to chime in with a formula or calculator they might have to get a by weight mixture...one that is user friendly and not over-complicated for the majority of us here to use!

Good find Dz,
I still estimate it, probably add a little more meth than water. To me it's not an exact science since meth testing shows very little power/cooler difference between 50/50 and 70/30. Guys who run 90/10 are just wasting the methanol.

so according to the chart, if you had to eye it, 40% water and 60% meth should be pretty close for a 50/50 mix by weight in a gallon container?

The difference in concentration by measuring weight or volume is negligible. Use the method you prefer and stick to it to keep conditions the same.
A 50/50 mixture by volume (and also by weight) will burn if heated. It is no near as flammable as stronger mixtures though. |

I am sure that mixing by volume is close enough........
But. Water weighs more than meth, so if you mix 50/50 by sight you will be getting more water than meth in the mix. Water is actually 25% heavier than meth. Meth weighs 8lbs per Cdn gallon Water weighs 10lbs per Cdn gallon I gallon = 4.546 litres. But that chart is pretty handy for eyeballing. |

50/50 mix by weight: 1 gal mix = 55oz water and 73oz meth Or if you want a formula: 55ozW + 73ozM = 1Gal 50/50 WMmix No reason to estimate or eyeball or any of that. 1) Take a gallon jug like left over from window washer fluid. Take it into your kitchen and pour in 55oz water and mark the line with a sharpie and label "Water" 2) Pour in another 73 oz or dump it out and pour in 1 gal. Mark the line with "Meth". 3) To use in the garage: Pour in distilled water to first line, pour in meth to second line. Done. Same mixture every time. I add in a few drops of food coloring so I can see it in the tank and in the lines. |

Yep... There was a LOT of misinformation and confusion about this when I first started out. After some research and math, i found out there's a pretty big difference between the two, and volume is NOT close enough, it's a pretty big diff actually.
