Last nights dragstrip run. Surprised, to say the least!

I have been waiting to get my 07 335i back to the track after having limp modes last time with JB3. So, my JB4, DCI I made three passes 80 degrees. 25 psi on RFT (run flats).

Last run i switched to Map 7, 100 oct of course(per Terry's approval) I ran a 12.7 at 109.9 MPH! I'm sure if I could've got another pass in 12.5-6 would've been possible due to more adaptation.

1st run Map 2 93 Oct, empty 10 mile range. (1st gear launch DSC off)
60 ft 1.9
1/4 13.2
MPH 106

2nd run Map 2 100 Oct, 3 gallons (1st gear launch DSC off)
60 ft 1.9
1/4 13.1
MPH 107

3rd run Map 7 100 Oct, (2nd gear launch this was key with RFT's on Map7)
60 ft 1.9
1/4 12.7
MPH 109.9

I was very pleased at the difference with Map 7 on 100 octane, and wouldn't normally have done this without bolt on's. I can't wait till the temp is 50 degrees and more adaptation time as I'm hoping for 12.5.

Below is the slip, Thanks Terry, loving the JB4!

2.1 sec 60' 4.1 sec 0-60 (massive wheel spin)
2.1 sec 60' 3.7 sec 0-60
2.1 sec 60' 4.1 sec 0-60 (wheel spin)
2.0 sec 60' 3.7 sec 0-60
2.0 sec 60' 3.7 sec 0-60

Re

Automatic. Hotrod, Looks like you're doing Vbox runs with those 60 fts. There is no way I could do 1.9 on the street. Our track here in Orlando is pretty sticky and my car hooks up awesome even on rft.

Solid runs for OSW!

The trap on the last run is sexy - almost 110 pretty much with just a tune and solid race gas.

Pretty sure you could run 0 PSI in those tires with no difference. But eitherway nice runs!

Ive had as low as 7 PSI in my RFT and couldnt tell.

The times are good!

I turn 1.9 consistently on run flats with my '07 335i e92 AT. I have a PROcede v5 rev 2.5 with DCI, 3" charge pipe w/meth. Ran a 12.7 @112. I know if I torq up too much I'll spin hard off the line and it kills the 60' time. Need a set of street drags for the weekends... Keep try'n new stuff. Meth is worth Look'n into. I think you'll find your car will be happier using...

How much time/mph do you lose with runflats. Not to be a dick, but that seems slow to me. I have seen many post showing stock 335i's running low 13's with the same trap speeds. Also, approximately how much of a horsepower difference do you see with similar mods when it is 80 degrees compared to 50 degrees, as this could be the contrast.

No logs.. I can tell you that my 60 ft was the same with 1 and 2 gear launches, however it is much quicker 330 times with 2nd gear launch. geterdone, 80 and 50 degree runs on a forced injected engine could mean a couple tenths in the 1/4 IMO. Yes, some people are going low 13's stock, I've just never seen it consistently. I believe my 335i would go 13.5-6 stock (map 0).
I downplay these runflats, but honestly the hook up very well for me. I'd love to start meth, and may in a few months

This is definitely true, especially at my local track where 12-14 second cars consistently run .5-1.0 seconds slower than some of the faster tracks in the region. I am honestly scared that I will not meet the expectations that I have for my car.

RE

tyler20c, launching mid throttle DSC off completely and squezzing the throttle on. A little harder in 2nd to prevent kickdown, however, overall quicker in the 1/4. Hope this helps, I practice alot

Ohh shit. OP I was there at Speedworld that night (watching, not racing). If you're 335 is a black sedan, then you were running good times. Nice car btw

OSW a sticky track? You are probably the first person I have ever heard say that. Try Bradenton or PBIR to know what a sticky track is.

Either way good job. Surprised I haven't seen you out. I go out there all the time. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait a little now as I am getting a new clutch installed.

Hopefully, the few weeks we actually see 50 degree weather here, they won't close the track. They have been doing that the past few years when it was "too cold".

Re

Jay, thanks man! GAtech, let me know when you want to go out to OSW. Let's do a post or PM each other when someone plans on going one Friday night. It'd be fun to have a few N54's out there!
