My N54 sounds like a subaru!!!

Lol. Been getting misfires at cold starts. Misfires on cyl 2 & 3. Car also shakes violently on cold starts then shuts off. When I start to drive it sounds like a Subaru with exhaust. Then goes away. What could be the cause of this??

I'm changing two injectors and spark plugs next week.

Test them by pulling by one at a time to find the bad one..

Swap the coils to other cylinders. If the misfire follows the coils, you know that's the problem.

Would it go away if it was a coil problem?

I had exactly the same problem as you describe, rough idling and rough running for a little and then everything was okay after that. Turned out to be a bad fuel injector, so they replaced all of them as well as the spark plugs under warranty.

You should replace atleast 3 injectors if not all 6 at the sametime.

Same goes for coils and spark plugs.

I had the same thing happen a month or so again. SES light came on and the car was misfiring and sounded exactly like a Subaru. Dealer replaced an ignition coil and it has been fine ever since.

Had the same issue, dealer replaced all 6 coil packs and 6 spark plugs.
