It really is. You can read up all you want about how to please a woman, you can look at all the diagrams in the world, but just like the clitoris, you won't know what the hell an apex is before you actually find it.

My understanding is that just because you have an aftermarket parts on your vehicle, it doesn't automatically put your vehicle in out of warranty status.

If i were you, i would bring this up to the SA and make sure before your car gets checked in.

Hmmm I guess you're right, and it'd be more noticable than my subs, thanks for giving me the idea. From what I've been told, it'd only void my piping warranty ? Not necessarily the whole motor right?

The burden is on them to prove that your aftermarket item caused the issue or is the significant factor in damaging your warrantied item.

I hope that helps.

But since all I need is an oil change, they shouldn't say anything right? Afterall, there's no error codes or anything?

I brought mine in to Crevier BMW in Santa Ana twice since I got the muffler delete, and they have yet to say anything to me. Your experience may vary though

No member can provide the assurance you are seeking.

FWIW, I've gone to the Dealer with full cat-back, cosmetic mods, and PROcede with no issues to my warranty. My warranty recently expired June 28.

I went this past May for a clicking noise. SA offered to replace the turbos. SA also told me the tech detected ECU tampering and advised me to put everything back to stock so they will clear my codes, and prep my car in case BMW comes to inspect the vehicle. I told them that it was ok. SA said the issue has been documented so that when my warranty expires I can come back to fix the issue should I desire.

The aforementioned dealership is New Century BMW.

The bottom line answer is: You should be fine but YMMV.

Who is your SA at Crevier? My SA is Eric and from what I heard he's pretty cool about modded BMWs as long as you let him know what you got. I have a service appointment in December but plan to pull out the JB4 Stage 2 and leave the catless dp and full catback exhaust on.

It should only void your warranty on your exhaust. Everything else will still be covered. But honestly what's going to happen to your exhaust that would need to be covered anyways? You should be fine, but it couldn't hurt to call as consistency isn't really the stealerships protocol.

Well from experience, that covers cat converters and headers and anything else that has to do with emissions? hopefully it'll just be nothing but ups from here, i'm not gonna need a cat once my warranty expires LOL! full straight pipe here i come!

Hey just so everyone is on the same page- Google the Magnussun Moss Act.

Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuso...s_Warranty_Act

Like stated above it basically says that in order for you to be denied a claim, the Manufacturer has to prove a direct correlation between the failure and the after market part.

This mostly protects the aftermarket parts industry which would be out of biz without it.

Nope - they can tell you what they want but a simple call to BMWNA quoting Magnussen Moss and your fine for Cats. They would have to prove the cat failed because your muffler. I think they would have to actually prove it, not just say well the pressure changed so it should cause a problem etc...

So... your oil change would be fine. Keep in mind BMW will try to tell you what ever they want to tell you but you now have information and the law on your side- and information is always power.

So does this technically mean I can get anything done as long as it doesn't throw error codes nor anything of that nature? Thank you very much for enlightening me and this post honestly should be stickied for future commers, again thank you
Technically speaking, I paid 4k for my clutch and flywheel, shouldn't that be under warranty? And if so, is it possible to get my payment refunded even though it was over a year ago?

There's some guys that are going to be at the meet today that take their cars to a certain advisor at Long Beach BMW. You can ask them who (because I forgot) so you can go to him, I think they have his cell phone number too?
