N55 335i w/AE Exhaust + AR Design DP
There is drone from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd. It goes away by 4th, but comes back at cruising speeds at 5th and 6th when I'm depressing the throttle. If I keep my foot off the throttle, it goes away. One of the reasons that I get drone from the first 3 gears is because the JB is holding boost much longer at the RPM's so it takes longer to shift which means louder drone. Go figure. Gives me a headache for sure and I'm glad I did not go the Eisenmann or Vanguard route. I would have gone crazy. I can only hope that the drone will go away over time. I'll post a video of fly by runs eventually. Also, thank you Matt@Camber-Toe for installing the exhaust. If anyone is from New York or in the vicinity, go to him. He knows his shit and he's the only one, other than MAC, I would let near my car. Also wanted to thank Alan************ for hooking me up! Great guy to deal with! Really nice, hope the drone fades. I hate drone!
But man that sounds so sick, love it! ![]()

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the AE Performance exhaust system on your 2011 BMW E92 335xi with the N55 motor. It was my pleasure helping you out and thanks again for posting up the video and sharing it with the community Sameet!

The drone in the car is maddening with this exhaust. I personally can't handle it so I'm taking out the AR downpipe next week and going back to stock. If anyone in the tri-state is interested in an AR downpipe with 500ish miles, let me know.

Keep the DP but go back to stock exhaust. Cat-back exhausts only offer negligible gains. The biggest gain is in the DP/Tune.

I guess my personality says otherwise. It's embarrassing too when you have other people in the car. |

Updated the original post with a new video. I would have done more video runs but since I live in a cul-de-sac, I really didn't want to disturb my neighbors..although my neighbor with the Shelby Cobra sure doesn't like to think the same way...

The drone was pretty bad. I knew from the moment I heard it that this exhaust wouldnt last. And it depends what sound you're looking for..loud or quiet.
