Someone Ran Over My Sister's Dog
It happened right in front of me. I was leaving her house to go to my friend's birthday party, and her dog ran across the street. I was getting next to my driver's door, when a truck came racing down the street. The dog spooked, and bolted back toward the house. The truck ran over the dog, and I heard it.
It was the most disturbing thing I've ever seen, as it was still alive. I ran after the truck, the truck driver saw me as he braked, I was yelling and waving my arm. Then he sped off. I ran back to the dog, who's body was flopping around like a fish. My sister stopped at the curb, and I told her to not look. His teeth had gone through his head, and one eye was hanging out. His body just kept flopping around, almost doing flips for about 2 minutes. I can't believe the driver didn't stop after seeing me though. It's one thing for an accident, it's another to just take off.

And my friend is being a dick because he's pissed at me for sticking around with my sister
He just sent me a text saying, "You better come through."

I really didn't want to click on the thread but wanted to do so to share my condolences. I hate seeing things like that. I really, realllyyyy do!! It's one of those things that I would never, ever like to see happen.

ouch.... i assume the dog passed on after a while ? i hope it didnt have to suffer for long. its one thing to be killed instantly and another to see an animal suffer a painful death.

sorry to hear bout the dog, but was it the driver's fault for hitting the dog? (i don't mean this in any negative way, but i've nearly hit bikers who don't stop at stop signs...) yes, i think he should have stopped, but did the dog run in front of the car? and was the car racing down the street? or was the car just going the speed limit? 25mph im guessing in residential. just trying to picture the scene a little better.

That was so disturbing to read, but I think it was a good thing you were there to stop your sister from witnessing the horror any further. Seeing a loved one mangled up is a life changing experiencing and can make a person become psychologically unstable for the rest of their life.

And this is why whenever my dogs are out, they are on a leash so shit like that won't happen.
Sorry to hear what happened, as I know what it is like to lose a close pet. Get her a new one and she'll be alright. |
