Hydrolocking your engine?

So today in houston it rained like no other and unfortunately i had to drive my 335i with an injen intake to church. Usually how deep does the water have to be before it gets sucked up into your engine, because i was pretty much driving like a 1 eye'd grandma through the highway and streets.

I know i should get the bypass valve but i'm still curious , thanks

With an injen intake you'd pretty much have to get the water up to the hood for it to hydrolock since the intake is as high as the top of the engine.

Unless you're using your car as a submarine you'll be fine. The Injen intake has less of a chance of sucking in water than the stock unit
