Missing WOT in 3rd and 4th

So I changed out my spark plugs two weeks ago because I was getting some stuttering at idle; it cleared up the issue and also the HPFP was replaced four months ago. As off two days ago my car was stuttering at idle again, but something new happened. Two nights ago while doing some WOT logs it started to miss badly at around 4k in 3rd and 4th gear. It felt like my turbo's were creating no boost for a second and then it would start to accelerate again and then cut out so on and so on. I thought maybe it was bad gas, so I went and filled up the tanked with 100. Last night I went and made a few runs and the same shit was going on. I am getting fed up with this car so far. It feels like something happens every other week.

JB4 and DCI are the only mods, the reason I think I am so upset is that I don't have a clue what is causing it. No codes or nothing; it reminds me of my old 03 Cobra, long story short we never could get the fuel issues corrected and I ended up selling it.

Here are some logs. WTF, this is Map 1, I am running over 16PSI and looks like my timing is dropping like crazy. I am scarred to do any more logs, my car is not under warranty and I don't feel like paying for a new engine. The second run is where it started having issues that were noticeable I started in second and went to Third gear, then I shut it down, you can see in third where it starts dropping boost and that is where the "falling on it's face happens". I have tried to set my maximum boost values to 14 psi with no luck. Also this is 91 octane.

The first log looks decent. I don't know what's happening on that 2nd log though, is your traction control off?

I wouldn't be surprised if you had a bad ignition coil. I had a few bad ones and what was consistent each time was that giving it WOT in 3rd or 4th gear from moderate speed would cause the engine to misfire (no codes until the coil failed completely). I ended up replacing all 6 plugs and coils while the 3rd coil was going bad.

Your logs look rather good, with one exception. Did you try the stock map, or removing the tune ?

Hi Bryce.....

COILS...I had the same exact thing, I would floor it and it would just stay there more or less with boost coming on after a couple seconds, BT tool showed a missfire on 6 also....I have the Procede, but the tune aside I replaced my coil on #6 and haven't had it since.

I also tried with the JB4 removed and still was having problems. I was considering a bad coil as a possibility, but will the coil issues cause a check engine light or does it just store the code that only a BT Tool and other diagnostic equipment can read. I figured it would, but I am not getting any check engine etc. lights. Also best price, Tischer???

Traction control was off, my belief is that since my car is over boosting and the ignition advance is retarding over 10~ it has caused me to fry a coil or blow a spark plug out. That could be the answer for the "missing"= (coil, spark plug or both). Also Terry said since the ecu is targeting over 10 psi it is causing throttle closure; he also said the overboost could be a wastegate issue or a boost solenoid? Any ideas for the overboost?? If its the wastegates, essentially I am F'ed, correct i.e. new turbos? Here are some of my CSV logs. Once again no codes, so I am throwing darts in the dark for now. Excuse the crappy csv file view. Thanks

Not many people are responding on this thread, but here is some info for others that may be having the same issue. One thing I noticed on the previous CSV exports was that when my ecu boost went over 8 psi (sometimes peaked above 15) throttle closure would take place; thus causing the "missing". So essential the ecu is saying no no.

Tonight I went ahead and disconnected my battery for a few minutes, I also set my lag fix to 35 instead of 80. I then went and did a run to see if this might have fixed anything; to my surprise the missing was gone or very minimal. When I got home I looked at CSV exports from tonight and saw that my ecu boost never went above 9psi and I had very little throttle closure; although my pre-boost was still way too high throughout the whole run, but somehow the ecu psi decreased. I know that a piggyback tune is suppose to fool the ecu psi, but my main question now is what caused the ecu psi to change or in general what controls ecu psi???

Once again my mod's are just a JB4 Map 1 and DCI running on 91 OCT. Also the weather was identical to the previous runs.

Sorry to be bumping an old thread but I am having the same exact issues. Were you ever able to find out what the definitive cause was?? And info would help...

It feels like hesitation when you go wot in 3rd gear. It happens on and off. Happens on my car about 40% of the time I go wot. It is either the coils or carbon buildup. Anybody know the best place to buy coils from online?
