I know a lot of locals are running the BMW PE with downpipes.

Do all of you experience nasty raspy at redline and especially when going WOT that crazy metallic sound?


I heard my buddies PE and it sounded ok below 5000rpm, but after that it sounded horrrrribly metallic and when the Auto tranny shifted it made a nasty raspy metallic sound.... was really surprised since I heard such good things about this setup.


Anybody have any input? I really don't want to weld in resonators, I'd rather just not put the catless pipes and use the PE with stock cats in place if that's my only choice.

How much louder do the downpipes make the exhaust anyway?
