Kickdown on AT...can the button be unplugged?
I read a thread but cant seem to find it where someone took the kickdown button out and used it as a safety button for nitrous...When button is pressed down on pedal it will allow nitrous to flow....Can it be just unplugged and no longer functional or would it throw an error code of some kind?? Its kind of annoying sometimes to go WOT and accidentally press the kickdown button...I really have no use for this and want to take it out totally..

I just pm George Smooth. He is the one that modified the kickdown button. I will get back to you guys on the fix. With so much power of a FBO there is actually no use for this functions what's so ever. In fact it's a nuisance as sometimes I can't control my feet and stomp on the pedal!!! I guess my feet are not feminine in any way and I am not able to feel the Pedal

If you are tracking your car, you should be focusing on smooth throttle and brakes. The best drivers in the world learn to control that adrenaline rush and always make for smooth imputs. If you do this while everyday driving, it should not be an issue.

What the hell is the purpose of the kickdown in the frist place ? Not entirely sure on its reason other than if a can screw you up on rolls.
Seems to only be worth it from 1st or BL in the begining. |

It seem it is more damaging for optimal performance when dropping gear to RPMs where boost is dropped off.
It seem to only work for me with BL or dropping the gear to a point where I know it will not down shift but will hold in the gear I select. |

Going to answer this here instead of the pm so the rest can get information. There isn't actually a kick down button per se in the throttle mechanism. There is a spring unit that just allows the potentiometer to show more voltage hence signaling the transmission to kick down. For my nitrous application we eventually installed a mechanical switch that makes contact on the kickdown position and remove the electronic gizmos we made up. Simpler is better.
I guess the stop method is also something simple and when you leave the track you can just remove it.

I wonder if the car can be coded to remove it.
