2012 F30 revealed by a BMW on 14/10/2011 ! Photos, videos, specs, E90/F30 comparison.
Hello guys,
I have just checked my YouTube account and BMW has uploaded today 4 new videos of new 3 Series General talk : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJXlG...&feature=feedu Sport Line model: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...id=nJXlGECfWOg Modern Line model: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...id=nJXlGECfWOg Luxury Line model: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...id=nJXlGECfWOg New BMW 1 Series is so ugly in terms of front end look. The previous one was a lot better looking and would definitely go with the old one knowing the engines are not as economical and agile as in the new model range. I think looks is one of the most important features when looking for a car to buy. The new 3 Series is different than E90. Is it better looking ? Hmmm I do not know, but its not as ugly as 1 Series for sure and I hope to get used to it. At first I didnt like the looks of the E90 while having my E46 but after purchase I got used to it and like how it looks lol E46 looks better by the way and I think it will stay the best looking 3 Series ever Out of all these modern BMWs I would go with new 5 Series F10 every time. I think it will be the last true BMW Its my only option when upgrading my current E90. All F10 models have leather, electric seats, navigation etc etc as standard which is cool What do you guys think about direction in which BMW Company goes ? What BMW would you upgrade to next from your current E90 ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- F30 M-Sport model somehow rescues the look of the front end Its BMW flag-ship bumper yeah ! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- - M-Sport interior/exterior photos and info : http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=598186 - All about F30 model range (photos, videos, info, spec etc...) : http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=592598 - Live photos from a F30 show (3 models) : http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=598167 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2013 M3 will look something like this : ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The F30 is 10cm longer and also wider and higher E90 / F30 Comparison : Novadays BMW seems to crap the front end and the Audi rear end lol! They should work with each other and make one proper car ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 Series in general With time it was getting stronger, more luxurious, bigger, more economical and more practical but was it getting better looking ? Hmmmm, after E46 everything went wrong but somehow LCI model of E90 rescued its apperance. Lets hope the same will happen with F30 !

Thanks for taking the time to post up those links.
Mmm, honestly not really sure what to think. Rear very 5 series, which I suppose is fine. Side view very current 3 series, which is also fine. The front is a challenge though. Those headlights meeting the grill are weird and there are some strange angles looking at the front from the side too. Suppose we really need to see it in the metal first, but its not an instant I want one. What’s everyone else thinking? |

Looks OK...but not particularly imaginative, looks very much like a car designed by a focus group.
Like the HUD, but otherwise really doesn't seem any better than the current E90/E92. Especially when the 335i is powered by the same unit, though it apparent does weight a tiny bit less |

dont like it one bit. The headlights look wierd, dont like the angles on the bonnet/front end.
Not sure its going to grow on me. Still not a fan of the 5 even in M sport guise. Not liked any of the new models apart from the new 6 coupe |

Not feeling the front end from those pictures. As has been said already, hopefully it will look better in the metal

Loads of pictures on here
http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=592598 First thoughts for me..... Front of bonnet seems quite low (not sure if thats good or bad) idrive/nav sticking out the dash doesnt look great back end looks like a 5 (again - not really a bad thing) front lights - not so sure. 40-45 kg lighter - can only be a good thing for handling and performance That red strip on the dash looks crap The red stitching looks crap too Dashboard dials and lights still look uninteresting same old orange - compared to other cars in the same class I suppose it will grow on me.... |

6 Series really looks better than the older version Somehow the new 7 Series is just ok too 1 Series and X1 = Hyundai So ugly X3/X5/X5 look really good both inside and out. The new 3 Series goes in the direction of the new 1 Series which is bad. The new design of kidney grill is not a great idea along with lights and whole front end. New 3 Series also looks similar inside comparing to 1 Series which is not great again. I would really feel strange inside the car lol! I think BMW has new designers who mess too much and should be fired straight away lol ! On the E90 when everyone saw this bloody downturned exhaust tip when it appeared in a dealer everyone was shocked and we still are after 6 years lol ! I hope the guy who designed it was fired. As we can see on the new F10 5 Series 520d gets double exhaust tips yeah thats the right move !!! Imagine that downturned pipe on F10 or F30 lol ! I hope the LCI versions of new 1 / 3 Series will be improved and we could buy it with a big taste then I also do not like how navigation looks, once again the same idea from new 1 Series F10 has a lot better looking and put together interior. Here you have a photo of F30's interior :

Loving the interior, which, unsurprisingly is almost identical to the new 1 (meh) and 5 series (love).
The front i'm not too keen on - it looks like it droops far too quickly. From the side angle it seems identical to the E90 LCI from the front wheel arch backwards. And the boot looks very very similar to the E90 LCI too. From these pics, if i had a E90 LCI i wouldn't be too gutted at all as it looks very similar (from the side and rear) to the new one. My favourite for the new line of BMW's is still well and truly the F10. |

I like it, but it looks similar enough to the E90 LCI that I can't get excited about buying one. I like the textured wood interior though.
Infact the thing I don't like about my 330d is mainly that is isn't a 535d; the 3-series isn't really doing it for me any more, so I think I'll move on to a 5-series next time. |

...and so begins the inevitable crash in prices of the E90!
Nice looking car. Has anyone seen any hint of the F31 touring? The coup/vert usually comes out about a year later but the touring should be about the same time as the saloon? Not sure if I'm all that keen on the coloured stripe along the dashboard. The red stitching in the steering wheel is cool though.

I like it - the M Sport looks ok.
I like the long bonnet & headlights that thin out to the grill - nice design IMO. M steering wheel is a bit like the old z4 one.

Hmm, you look at the front and think "This looks pretty fresh and exciting!"
And then you see the back 2/3 and think "Oh no, just another E90" Love the front, love the interior, but think the rest looks disjointed. Think I would rather buy a late E91 sport instead at a cracking price. |

I'm sold. I think it looks superb from every angle. Interior looks great too apart from the coloured strip which I'm sure will be changeable once you start speccing the car.

Every single post includes a dig at the 335i/d. Seriously let this extremely boring and relentless bashing go. There really is no need to be so bitter. Besides a 335i is 0.5sec quicker which is a fair margin anyways. |

The 4 door pre facelift was very dull, I was unsure whether to buy the E91 when I did as it wasn't exactly a stunner, even in m-sport guise, but with the rear lights sorted with blacklines, originals a horrible design, it looked pretty decent. However, stick it next to an LCI model, even in SE guise, and it does look extremely bland imho. Stick it next to a Merc C sport and it looks bland, and even next to an A4 as much as I hate to say it, again the Audi gets the nod, looks wise. I do think that is the general concencus out there too, as when I had mine loads of my mates went on about how the Audis look better. But they are clueless when it comes to cars and looks is the only thing they go on, as do most of the car buying public. |

It's just slating the 335i and d in every single post. We have had to endure the 330d is amazing and the difference between 4 and 6 pot engines is huge and worth it. Also how the difference in performance feels far higher than power differences suggest. Now reverse logic where there is no point buying a 6 cylinder engine wih 60bhp more than a 4 cylinder. Just to to be critical of the 335 he will contradict his own opinions. Can't have it all ways. |
