First Datalogs. How's it look? Right channels?

I finally got a damn USB/DB9 cable that works so here is my first datalog. I think I'm recording all the right data but would like some input. Anything else I should log? Should I log longer (ie 3 thru 4 gear)? How's it look?

Here's what I'm running: V5 2.5, PMW, ETS 5", DCI, 91 Octane and 50/50 mix on 7-29 maps. Boost 16.5.

Also, what's with the Meth Injection drop? I only logged twice and the other log had that same drop.

The meth injection dc% drop was caused by a throttle closure. And you can even see the effects of the throttle closure by looking at the boost log. With the currently released public firmware, a 30% reduction in throttle blade opening will result in a 30% reduction in meth injection dc%. What caused the throttle closure is unknown and really isn't a concern unless it's consistent and not caused by a traction control event. Also, might want to try a stronger meth mix. 50/50 isn't ideal if you want to run 16+psi will full timing on 91oct. If you go with 75/25, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the difference on the road and in the logs.

Shiv,

I'll be draining her tonight and will refill with 80 or 90% meth. Plan on hitting Sac Raceway this Wednesday. Besides the higher meth concentration, anything you think I should change? How about the logging channels? I want to know as I plan to load the aggressive maps and test at the track... unless you don't recommend that.

Shiv, if there is a throttle closure wouldn't the boost spike due to where the TMAP sensor is located? Or am i just thinking about it wrong?

That AFR at full boost in midrange looks worrisome...looks like 13.5-14 AFR at 4k rpm with 16-17psi and about 4-5deg timing...also that wobble in AFR down low doesn't look good at all...why is it unstable like that...

5k rpm up looks fine if those AFR logs are indeed correct..

Yes that is correct and you can clearly see it in the datalog. Shoot me an email regarding loading the aggressive maps for the track. I have some suggestions.

@dzenno-- never give it a rest, do you? Lol

lol i'm just looking for refinement man, nothing else and you know it...not looking to bash and never have...there really isn't anything to bash, procede is a great tune but, take it however you wish obviously, but it'd be nice to see some "further" refinement in the fuel control area that's all...i can't argue with you thinking it doesn't "need" any further refinement obviously as you're much better at wording things that than me

You're right, my bad. I was looking at the down-swing of the boost and i was thinking that's what you were referring to.

Dan,

Your channels are good, but I would do a full 2,3 and shift into 4th pull to get a better picture. I would say most people do a full 3rd and 4th gear pull but it's hard to go that fast (safely) on an open road.

I'm Had a few throttle closure like u not sure why, may be Vegas heat is affecting my procede box, because my logs look good all the time.

It sux that other members can't really give any feedback (unless is positive) cus they get accuse of bashing and get flame, when they are just trying to help other members like u and me that are new to tuning, meth and logging. If other members can't help u, then what's the forum for?

OP, I can 2nd the recomendation to use a stronger meth mix. In my experience, you may need more than just a 75/25 mix to get your timing curver perfect. It took a can of NOS booster+91 + 75/25 for mine to get decent accross an entire 3rd gear pull. Without having 93oct or better as base, timing was always droped below 10deg until meth really started flowing... Its possible that not all 91oct is creatated equal though...

I'm also a bit more experienced and knowledgeable than you. So when you completely ignore the bias effect and what it does to the AFR reading during the onset of said bias, you are being disingenuous at worse or just misinformed at best. I kindly request you avoid giving advice to my customers as you have made it very clear that your primary intention is not to help them.

I've got 100% meth in the car right now. Might pour in a little distilled water if needed. I really don't want to use octane booster or race gas. Reason being is that race gas is not readily available nor inexpensive.

I don't know if I can log at Sac Raceway but I'm sure gonna try. I'll also download aggressive maps onto my laptop beforehand. Plan to give them a try halfway thru the night.

I may be there at Wed if I can get the 997tt ready. And if you need racegas, PM Syndicategt. There is a 100oct readily available at the 76 gas station near the track. It's also a good idea to run at least some water in your mixture. 10-20% would be good.

Would love if you could attend too. I'll mix some race gas in too. Approx what octane mix do you recommend.

I'll add the water too.

Sounds good. Might as well run straight 100oct if you can get their tank empty by wednesday

The 76 station sells 100 Oct. It's off of Watt / Marconi about 10 min north of the track. If you are driving from your second home, it might be out of the way vs. your primary address. We can always do it the redneck way and siphon some out of my tank for you
