Welcome Am and get some pics up soon.

I would just get the blacklines from the dealer, ask for their best price.

As Gizze says best to go to a dealer for your blacklines.

Ive been on the look out for them for a while and its rare to pick them up second hand. Anneka at synter can supply for around £220. You'll pay over £150 for second hand so its hardly worth the hassle.

OK guys, thanks. I am also wanting to get my ipod hooked up, I assume I would need some sort of interface to allow the I drive to display track/playlist listings?

Then you need 6FL retrofit and dealer coding to fit this.

I think BW chiptune can fit this for you too which will be much cheaper than dealer prices.

NB. Also makes sense to get bluetooth phone prep done same time. You can then list both options when selling the car as they demand a premium.

The car already has Bluetooth and works great with my S Galaxy II, the 6FL retrofit kit seems like a good way to go about it then just needing a little coding via dealer. Any installation guides for them, and possibly a group buy?

Someone I can finally ask!!

What is the "Baby on Board" sign for? Genuinely interested as I've always wondered what the rest of us are supposed to do with this information. Not crash into you?

Nice car btw. .

It is in case you crash so the emergency services know there is a child on board.
You should NEVER have it in there without the child in the car as they can spend hours looking for the baby after a crash in case it has been thrown from the car.

Though seems you got the answer with gIzzE's reply.

As a matter of safety I have one on the window next to where my little 1 yr old sits aswell as the one in the rear window. Of course I'd rather not have things stuck in the windows etc but not really a question when you have no control over everyone else driving on the roads!

But then some States in the USA will fine you for having one in the vehicle without a 'baby on board'.
So I am not sure about it, they take 2 seconds to stick on, so leave it in the baby seat and whack it on when you put the kid in the car.

It was an entirely genuine question and gIzzE's answer is what I expected someone to say but has there EVER been a recorded instance where the emergency services have driven off leaving a poor little mite flung from the wreckage? How would that even happen? I asked my mate last night who's a paramedic and he reckons it's all an urban myth too and they have no special direction based on those stickers.

Which States will fine you for having a sticker without an actual baby? If anyone can give evidence of that I'll STFU and donate £20 to a charity of your choice.

I think it's a s Snopes says, a bid to other drivers to be courteous of other road users or it's "Hey look, I can pro-create!"

I don't know but when searching for details on this there was a thread on a forum with someone who 'got a ticket' for displaying the sign with no child on board. They also said they thought it was an urban myth, the police said it was ticketable in certain States and a few chimed in to say that they knew people who had also been ticketed.
The general concenous was that the police officers had also fallen for the myth, but a few were saying it was ticketable.

I don't know? I genuinely thought it was there for that reason, I don't like the look of them so never put them in there.

If people are discourteous on the road do you really think this is going to make any difference to their driving depending on the age of the people onboard?

I doubt it.

Frankly all life if important. If you drive differently with other traffic just because a car says a baby is on board, then you are a strange person indeed.

I think these signs are more likely to irritate than they are to have any effect on improving people's driving.

The only advantage they have I can see is to warn other motorists they are potentially distracted from the job in hand.

That was my thoughts edowen, they annoy me to. I don't want to be admonished by somebody I've never met ordering me to "drive carefully because MY CHILD IS HERE!!" when I was driving carefully to start with. They annoy me immensely.
