Bastuck Exhaust little too quiet ?

I recently had Bastuck exhaust put on but I can't seem to tell a difference (sound) between the stock exhaust and the Bastuck exhaust. Bastuck exhaust is not new so there shouldn't be any break in period. Anyone experience the same ?

it is only slightly louder than stock. Put some catless dps for best sound and power.

Bastuck is very tame for sure considering all the exhaust out there...In fact it sounds just like my CPE with custom resonators. If your into loud and throaty get the Vanguard exhaust and you will be happy. For me I am in love with my exhaust and thats the sound output that I was looking for with a catless setup.

Thanks for the heads up. I read that it sounds pretty awesome with the DPs or new mid pipes but I was expecting little bit of sound difference. I don't want rice rocket sound but little bit of grrrrrr...

Just a thought... would a muffler shop be able to create a custom 3" mid pipes or would it be cheaper to buy one ?

Noticed that the prices for DPs or Mid Pipes are NOT cheap.

The biggest difference soundwise is when you either delete the secondary cats or swap them out against (metal) race cats.

When I ran the Bastuck in my car two years back with catted DPs and stock secondary cats, the sound difference was indeed not very large. However, once I had catless DPs in there and exchanged the secondary cats against race cats, it was an entirely different matter.

You also have to take into account that the E90 sedan has additional mufflers in the midpipes, which the E92/E93 do not have.

+1 on the down pipes...

If your exhaust is too quiet, go with DP's for your best bet in getting more power, and opening up that exhaust a bit so you can hear it better.

Catless DPs can make the stock exhaust pretty loud too. Has anyone gotten cattless DPs first, then got the Bastuck and noticed a big difference?

I have catless DPs and stock exhaust right now, and it's plenty loud for me, but I'm interested in improving the tone.

I have ar catless dp installed on my stock exhaust and it hardly made any sound difference. I will be installing a bastuck exhaust soon. Do you think it will be louder without replacin the midpipes. I hope so cause i dont want to be completely catless

I'm in a similar boat, don't want to be completely catless and need more sound out of my BMW Performance mufflers.

Still can't get a conclusive answer as to what will give me a louder/nicer exhaust note... downpipes or a secondary cat delete. I have 0 care for the power since I will change the setup soon anyway, just need the sound right now. Also worried about rasp with the downpipes.

I've been told over and over again... Bastuck with DP == Best Sound.

You selling your AR DP ?

What's your experience with Smog though ? I know here in CA, your exempt from getting a smog check for first 6 years of the car but after that, are we gonna be able to pass smog ? Visual and/or sniffer ?
