tough call. Very few out there with that sort of mileage.

Looking at autotrader I would say around 7-8k.

What Autotrader are you looking at?

Using the mobile site the cheapest is £10500 with 160,000 miles. That's also a SE model.

late 06 car, but gives a good point of reference (trade)

2006 BMW 3 SERIES 330D SE 4DR AUTO +LEATHER+SATNAV+

4 Doors, Automatic, Saloon, Diesel, 122,000 miles, Metallic Sparkling Graphite, MOT-01-2012, 2 Owners. HPI Clear, Full Service History, Sat Nav, Leather seats, Cruise control, Air conditioning, Alloy wheels, Park distance control, Front armrest, Electric windows, Electric mirrors, ABS, Adjustable seats, Adjustable steering column/wheel, Navigation system, Anti theft system, Central locking, Child locks, Climate Control, Computer, Driver airbag, Head restraints, Immobiliser, Service indicator, Metallic paintwork, Multi function steering wheel, Passenger airbag, Power assisted steering, Radio, Traction control, Trip computer, Reverse parking aid, Steering wheel rake adjustment, Steering wheel reach adjustment, Audio remote control, 3x3 point rear seat belts.

£7790.

The issue is the market isnt massive for this sort of mileage, and the market has plenty of cars with a lot less for not a lot more. It all depends how long you want to wait to sell.

The difference between trade value for a 335d M Sport versus SE is virtually nill at this age and mileage. Especially since both cars have Sport suspension and sport seats.

OP, just giving my opinion, very happy to be proved wrong, but I do not humbly believe you will get anything close to that sort of money for it.

Good luck all the same.

Taking a similar Nav equipped M sport saloon (a 57, not sure if yours is 57 or 07) plate car from Autotrader, and adjusting the mileage, CAP gives:

BMW
3 SERIES DIESEL SALOON 335d M Sport 4dr Auto
Mileage:117000
Date of Registration:October 2007VIN:WBA*******173
Colour:BLACK
ValuationsOctober 2011Guide at117,000 miles
Trade In Average £7,750 -£8,275

Of course, slightly more for private, and expect a kick in the nuts for a trade in!

I don't think the valuations are accurate in the slightest on that site. Some seem about right others are silly.

You may notice when you punch in any registration plate it always quotes the base value of the car? The very cheapest model in the range with no options.

Maybe that's why some cars vary wildly and other cars where there is limited options and model variations come up with reasonable figures?

So maybe it's not taking into account the car properly?

On Autotrader there is nothing even close to those values.

Fair enough dealers have to make profit but you are looking at 50%+ mark up with those figures.

Slightly more for private does not match what I'm seeing on Autotrader. It's significantly more.

'Value my car' has it at £5730 for an 07 M sport in excellent condition with that mileage.
I don't know what extras yours has,so this valuation is prob for a no frills basic model.
Seems very underpriced IMO-at least I hope so!

Something doesn't sound right... I know that's quite high mileage, but I paid £13k for a 2007 330d with 80k about 6 months ago.

If it were mine, I'd be expecting to sell for well over £10k.

Seems like a very difficult car to value. The problem is that I suspect your target market is limited. High mileage large engine cars are tricky to sell at the moment so you will need to be patient and wait until the ideal buyer comes along.

That person is going to have to be someone who very specifically wants a 335d but does not have a wad of cash to spend. You don't give much detail on the spec of the car, but its obviously short of Xenons.

If buying a high mileage car then people may want toe security of buying from a dealer with some sort of warranty or comeback.

So you're waiting for someone who's not that fussy about spec (Xenons), willing to buy a high mileage car privately, who demands a 335d and is basically looking for the cheapest one they can get.

It looks like if you do advertise it for £12 - £12.5k it will be one of the cheapest M Sports around; so you just need to advertise it around that amount and see if that specific buyer comes along. However I think you will be waiting a long time in the current climate because there aren't many buyers looking for the big engined cars.

You'll need to be flexible on price because I suspect a trader would ask about that kind of money for this car.

I think you also need to consider what other cars you would be competing with at that price point.

If I was looking to spend £12k - £12.5k, because of the limited number of 335d at that price I would be considering the 330d as well. For this sory of budget you can get a 330d M Sport with 45-60k miles, with Xenons, Nav etc from a dealer. That would be a far more attractive proposition to me.

Hence the comment that your buyer would need to have their heart set on a 335d and nothing else.

Realistically I don't think the 7 to 8k is all that far off. He may get a private buyer a bit higher but the right punter for that car could be hard to find.

That car is worth 10-11k easy, what alot of people on here tend to forget is that 335d saloons and tourers are ALOT harder to find than the 330d equivalent, thus they command a higher price, regardless of the mileage.

I keep an eye on the 335d prices and they are still commanding firm money, it's a more niche and soughtafter model than the 330d IMO

5-8k is plain silly imo.

Ive not long brought my e90 330d and spent the last year trawling the market for 'the one'. .. and quite often i would drop the 335d into the searches just as a comparison and for if there was any crazy deals that came up. Even with high miles I dont remember a single case below 10K that wasnt either chavved up or a 'cat d'.

What youve got there looks to be a very clean and original example. If you put it up for 10995 i would think you will be able to choose an owner.

In the 'trade' as a part-ex it may be worth 8K... but nobody in the right mind is going to offer one at that price Privately!

Looking at some of the figures been banded about on this site is laughable.

Normally brand enthusiasts are usually a bit kean to over inflate values of their brand. It's the complete opposite on here.

If there was BMWs available for the prices quoted on this site nobody would ever have to buy a Ford Fiesta again.
