Steering wheel buttons - control whatever
I would like to know what is needed to use the steering wheel buttons to control remotely installed radar detector. Or what ever for that matter.
I would like to use the left hand side buttons on the steering wheel. I would assume that using them to control the voice alerts should be straight forward. It might be more difficult to e.g. use them to switch a unit (e.g. Beltronics STI driver) on/off. Where do those wires behind the buttons end up? How can they be intercepted? |

There are no wires per se that you can tap into, the MFL controls talk directly to the bus. You would have to tap into the bus and interpret commands.
