Checking Flow of Vishnu Meth Kit??

After seeing some of the “aggressive” mapping being released and logged, I thought it is crucial to check meth flow to confirm expected volume. To do this we need to either activate the high speed valve, or bypass it. You need to check the system under pressure.

Reason: The flow meter does measure flow, but the measurement is really only relative per individual system. We do not know the min/max of each flow meter. For example I am logging about 26ish, but many others will read >30, does this mean I have less flow… not necessarily since each meter will have variations in calibrations.

Pump Pressure: I have tried adjusting the head screw, but there is limited flow change and this is due to the bypass spring being changed. Typically these pumps will have a pressure range of about 100 to 250psi (I think), but with the different spring this range is narrowed.

Expected flow with open valve and 2 1mm nozzles: about 850ml/minute

I can think of 2 methods for checking flow:
1. Measure spray volume into a bottle
2. Measure pressure between pump and valve
#1 would be the least costly (don’t need pressure gauge) and there are multiple ways to do this, but I need help in determining best method. Or if anyone has a better idea, please inform.
Ground Valve Open: Ground the valve open and then spray into a bottle timing it.
*I am not sure of the best method for grounding the valve*
ByPass Valve #1: The meth kit is ¼ to 4mm meth line after the valve. Thus we need an adapter to reduce line size in order to spray from nozzles.
*I have NOT found such adapter yet*
ByPass Valve #2: This is what I think is the easiest solution. ¼ elbow to nozzle:

You would just plug in the ¼ line from the pump and measure flow from 1 nozzle. Should it be very close to 1/2 of 2 nozzles?

I wanted to post this before actually making a purchase to see others thoughts and if there’s an easier more economical, immediate solution. Maybe I’m just making this too complicated.

Add a longer lead from the FAV to the tee for the two nozzles.
Remove connector from FAV.
Shove nozzles into a 2L bottle.
Short boost switch with alligator clips.
Connect 6V to FAV leads, the two on the top. (9V battery is fine if you dont have a 6V)
Watch in amazement for 10sec. Disconnect leads to FAV at exactly 10sec.
Measure out liquid from 2L bottle. Multiply by 6.

Gotcha, much easier... I forgot that you can unscrew the front sensor and access the leads. Cool

Well.....technically you are bridging the contacts.

At least I hope you are not "shorting" anything out.

That would be way Baaaaaaaaad

lol, I thoguht that for circuitry, shorting was allowing current to flow past its intended path of whatever it was powering, creating a shorter path back to the anode. ie, "shorting" the spring loaded switch. I'm no electical engineer though lol.

Anyway, the pedantics are beyond the scope of the OP's thread.
