So I think its time to sell my e92. This car was intended to be an investment. I purchased it at an auction in Los Angelos around June 2010. The vehicle was in an accident and the insurance had auctioned it off. In July I had the car professionally repaired by a reputable European auto repair shop near Seattle. All the replacement parts on the vehicle were OEM (have receipts to prove). List of what I had to replace:

1. Hood
2. Right side fender
3. right side headlight
3. bumper cover
4. Radiator support
5. Grills

There was absolutely NO frame damage, and the airbags Never deployed. The engine bay had no damage whatsoever. I would consider the damage minor. I would be glad to have the vehicle inspected at your cost.

After the car was repaired I haven't experienced ANY problems with it. It drives great! In fact I loved the car so much I decided to drive it for a year instead of selling right after repair.

I accidentally rear ended a suv a few weeks ago. I was barely moving by the time I hit him so the damage wasn’t too bad. Even though the accident wasn’t very bad I had to replace the hood, bumper cover, headlight, grills and radiator support. More or less the same list of repairs you listed minus the fender. It ran about 5 K total for the repairs.

I’m kind of curious as to why the insurance company would total the car and sell it at auction over $5,000 of repairs.

Does the car have a salvaged title?

I have been questioning that the entire time I have owned this vehicle. This was the only accident the car has been in, and like I posted above there was no frame damage or airbag deployment. You can see by the photos. Although the damage was fairly minor (about 4500 in repairs) the title was branded. It currently has a reconstructed title. I want to file a claim with Olympia and show them proof that the vehicle does not deserve a branded title. I heard of many people doing this.

Did they brand your title?

Oh thats right, cause I remember him rolling up a few times on his brothers car. But ya we went to school together last year.

Nope, the damage wasn't bad enough to warrant a branded title.

Maybe the person who owned your car before you had a connection or something with the insurance company.

Maybe.Something had to happen. There's no way it should be branded for that amount of damage.
