Wife Just Left Me And My New 335i Is In Transit.

Well, about a month and a half ago my wife and I agreed on a new car, I sold my e46 and I ordered a new 335i sedan, putting down a $1000 deposit. It's now on a ship headed to the port on west coast, should arrive there next week.

Four days ago, I came home from work, found a note on the kitchen counter, and my wife had moved out of our home. She left me in quite a bind in more ways than one, but financially I'm worried. We lived on 2 incomes and now she is withholding her income and I am on my own with all our expenses and bills.

I want my wife back and am not sure if it will happen or when. Everything was mostly fine between us when I ordered the 335i. My friends and family tell me it's just bad timing, among other things.

I have this new car coming and I am worried about making it on my own finacially even without the new car expense, but I am really worried about adding the new car to my list of expenses. It was not going to be a problem with 2 incomes, but now...

Anyway, my dilemna is do I lose the $1000 deposit and forget my 335i or do pick the car up at the dealership toward the end of this month??

I ordered this car exactly to my wishes and for almost 2 months I look at pictures of 335s and read the forums all about E90s on a daily basis. I think about the car a lot and have looked forward to the day I get to experience everything about the new 335i.

What do do, what to do...

Any ideas or suggestions from my fellow BMW enthusiasts???

I'm not married nor do I have a girlfriend but if you cannot finance the vehicle when it arrives without your wife do not take delivery. Your priority should be to contact your wife asap and find out what's up if she left without any reason.

I find it odd how you care more about the car at this point than your wife...I smell BS, especially with your 3 post count

That was just her way, I guess. We have been in contact since, but not much. One moment she's hard and cold, next she's not.

Ask for your deposit back, just explain the situation. buying the car now would be foolish IMO. sorry that happened to ya.

I am financed and the deposit was part of the drive off, but I am guessing I can still walk away from the deal. I could make it probably, but it will be tight, and I wont have much extra money for anything.

they can sell the car immediately if its an e92 so I wouldn't stress on getting your deposit back- especially since it hasn't even arrived yet. get your money back for now and deal with the important stuff now-

You know what...I am going to take an alternate view here. And I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but so what...

GET the car when it comes in.

You are going through something awful in your life, and no matter how it turns out, its going to be a difficult, bumpy road for a while. And you know what? Personal finance is EXTREMELY important...but your mental health and finding a smile, even if only when you are behind the wheel of your car, is important.

While you are going through this...you'll need a diversion...you'll need SOMETHING, ANYTHING to make you smile. If it's a beautiful Bimmer...so be it.

Get the car...you have the rest of your life you to worry about your finances. We aren't talking a 500,000 dollar mortgage here...we are talking about a 45k car...a hobby...and most importantly, your happiness.

Best of luck to you.

you know, I sort of agree with Mr.Cowbell man..

you stated you can afford the car payment it is just going to be tight.
I say go for it, while it is not the smartest financial move, it will make you smile everytime you drive it, heck maybe it will help you pick up a new girl

anyway I hope you can work it out with your wife, and have the car too.. that would solve both your issues.

BEst of luck

More then likely u should be able to get your $1,000.00 back?
If u are that tight don't buy the BMW. More importants things in life!

In fact: things got tight for me to & I decided to sell my 335i Sedan.
I'm getting a 08 Dodge Avenger & I will not regret it either!
Car is a car & they all will take you to your destination just fine.
I will save $200.00 car insurance a year, $800.00 in tires when needed.
The list is endless in why I'm doing this...BMW should not be your life!
