e90 angel eye idea
so, after reading the post about the E92 swapping out the h8 bulb for white angel eyes, and seeing e92's on the road with brighter angel eyes than the e90's i got to thinking, what if we put an h8 bulb in the e90's? so my question is, since I have never seen the inside of the e92 housings, are the rings made of the same material as the e90's, just a different bulb? I am thinking about trying an h8 bulb in the e90 housings, but I would need to modify the stock bulb holder, maybe drill out the hole a little more, so it would fit in there, if someone can post pics of the inside of the e92 angel eye housings, that would be great

wont work...
first off the h8 bulb is way too big second the h8 buls is a higher output = more heat = melting the angel eyes or the whole headlight third - you will get an error most likely fourth - you would need to build a custom reflector for the bulb, and it would be much too large to fit in the area. sorry ... |

Besides, the angel eyes are set up completely differently on the e90 vs e92.

Party pooper... oh i suck
it would be awesome if you could try to make something that would fit, but i just dont think its possible. the hulb is too large. also the bulb alone has no reflector to project the light forward, so it would be pointless. |

You'd want mds82's Lux Angel Eyes over an H8 bulb anyday, trust me. The E92 Angel Eyes don't look nearly as good as E90s. Sig pic is misleading haha

well, it was just an idea, as I get jealous when I see e92 and x5's with brighter angel eyes than the e90's, at any rate, I can hardly wait til Lux 3.0 is out!

Ok, i am not sure what the difference is here, is the 07 E92 light housing different than the 07 E90 housing. If so what exactly is different, since I was about to change the angle eyes on my E90 335i, and put in brighter/less yellow bulbs.
Are you all saying this can not be done unless you go with the LUX set up with LEDs? |

ok, I think I answered my own question. I looked on realoem.com and saw the drawings and the housing are different. gee you would think BMW would make them the same from a cost stand point. But then again they charge us a premium.

the e90 and e92 headlights are very different and you can not use the the LUX, PIAA, BREX kit in the e92's
