09 335d

I'm looking for a low miles 335d and came across a nice 20k mile 09. The price is nice and the carfax is clean (not that that means anything).
Are there any weird quirks about 09s that I should condiser? The car is loaded. All packages plus nav.

Thanks

Are you buying it CPO?

I picked up an '09 CPO with almost the same number of miles in January and
had it shipped from the dealer in CA to MA. I had the tail-lamps replaced under
warranty shortly after I got it.

I had to buy an extra set of wheels/tires to get through the winter and have
had a brake fluid flush done (and I asked for an oil & filter change) since then.

It's been GREAT!!!

I love the sport pkg. My previous drive was an E36 M3 sedan.

The E90 has made me forget about the E36.

We have a 09 330d, which is obviously 95% the same as the 335d. Its not been faultless but nothing that should be read in to . Love it!! You will love a 35d

Its not CPO. But I think I can get at a decent enough price to get the BMW warrany or look into the Ford worranty.
What type of mileage are you guys looking at? I have a 40 mile trip each way to work, so that make the diesel stand out in my new car hunt.

Thanks

I've been getting ~34 MPG in mixed driving on my commute. I go ~5 miles on
back roads then highway the remaining 13 miles. Other trips are local - ~35 MPH, etc.

In strictly in town driving I get ~31 MPG.

I feel this is great mileage considering it's:

1. A 3.0L engine pushing a

2. 3800 lb. car

I should mention I use the paddle shifters to upshift at ~1500 RPM to help the mileage.

As they say, YMMV. Certainly getting addicted to the MASSIVE torque could
have impact on one's mileage.

Dealer doubled the eco credit and gave me 2k more than my trade was worth. I wanted a used one because I knew I was upside down on my trade and didnt want to roll anything into the new loan. It was late and they wanted to sell a car, so we made it work.

post the price details!

Also, how much was the 09 you were looking at? I picked up my loaded 09 for the lowest I've seen about a month ago.

The 09 I was looking at was 36000 even. Had just over 22k miles on it.
Mines sold for just under 45k. And that includes 2k to pay off my trade in. (It had some damage) Before taxes
I'm sure they got me with the trade in, but they matched carmax's offer so I'm not complaining.
Options
BLACK, DAKOTA LEATHER SEAT TRIM (LCSW)
3-SPOKE LEATHER-WRAPPED MULTI-FUNCTION SPORT STEERING WHEEL WITH AUDIO AND HANDS-FREE PHONE CONTROLS (255)
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMS (5AC)
BMW APPS (6NR)
BMW ASSIST (639)
HARD DRIVE-BASED NAVIGATION SYSTEM (609)
HEATED FRONT SEATS (494)
IPOD & USB ADAPTER (6FL)
LIGHT BURL WALNUT WOOD TRIM (4A3)
PREMIUM PKG (ZPP)
SATELLITE RADIO (655)
SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION (6NF)
SPORT PKG (ZSP)

Not loaded, but everything I needed. I'll get some picks up soon.

Well done, sir. For what it's worth, strictly bumper to bumper nets me about 22-24 MPG.

That's a nice price on a new loaded up 2011. my 09 was 31 with similar options. I'd love to see that GN!

I have a 80 mile a day highway commute that's sometimes stop and go traffic. I average 32mpg mixed with my weekend running around and still being heavy footed.

Nice work rakimb17. On 10/30 I inked a deal on a 20k mile pre-owned 2011 335d with the same options you have (mine is sapphire black/black with alum trim) + split folding rear seats for $39k. I could have gone with a new car for a few $ over $45k but decided to save the $6k and go with the used one. Since I drive 25k miles/year I felt saving $6k was worth giving up 9 months of mileage.

I'm averaging 33.5mpg with my first tank. Unbelievable to have this much performance AND get such incredible fuel economy. Time to reprogram my brain!

I would have taken that deal. I just decided to pull the trigger when they went to 43. I'm averaging 30+ right now. Just under 500 miles. Still learning how do drive this car for mileage though. When I set the cruise it shows 40+.

When you turn off traction control, can the 335d burnout?
Or does it kill the fuel when the front tires aren't moving as fast as the rears?

It's pretty easy to get the car to burn out....with as much torque as my car puts down, it happens more often than not, and I keep my traction control completely off because I can't stand when it kicks in. :P
