Akrapovic Evolution Full Stainless Steel Exhaust
I was looking into buying a Akrapovic Evolution Full Stainless Steel Exhaust system. I have a 2010 E90 335xi 6MT. I have heard all the negative comments about this exhaust system being too pricey for what you get and there are cheaper alternatives. Now for me price is not the issue here. I was wondering if anyone that has this exhaust find it too crazy loud with catless Dp's? I like loud but not so loud that it hurts my ears. I have watched a bunch of utube videos and the exhaust along with AR Design DP's sound amazing, but it's hard to tell from utube vids. This car is my DD and I would like a fairly nice sound when I'm just cruising and head turner when I'm WOT. Also does anyone have this exhaust without DP's? How does that sound? Are there any droning issues at low RPM's? Any comments would be appreciated.

Best thing to do is hear it in person, I know this may not be an option. As you said, You Tube will not give the best examples and never trust someone else's opinion. As we all have very different tastes, you will varied opinions. I personally don't like loud booming exhaust and might give X a negative review vs. my Y which has a more mild but exotic sound.
Very good options are Vanguard and AE if you can possibly find a local E9x and hear it in person. You will also save a decent amount of money vs. the Akra.

Full evo system may be too loud on the M3 but I haven't heard of any issues on the 335. This is actually one system that almost all of our customers have been happy with, and we've heard nothing but rave reviews.
Exhaust will probably sound BETTER in person than on YouTube. I know mine did. ![]() |

Akropovic is in the top 3 nicest, best made, best fitting, best engineered aftermarket part I have ever bolted onto a car.

1) Eurosport High Performance twin screw supercharger kit for M50-S52 E36.
2) Akropovic exhaust 3) I don't remember. Maybe there's only a top 2. Most other stuff is questionable to very good, but not remarkable like those two.

After screwing with cheap, crappy exhausts on many different BMWs from supposedly high-end companies that don't fit properly or some that don't fit at all (esp cheap Chinese knock-offs), then installing Akropovic titanium exhausts, there is no comparison. Cheaper is always out there, but you get what you pay for.

No I just mean parts in general, from the 80s all the way up to the present, I've seen a lot of supposedly good, inexpensive parts fit poorly.
All I meant was that if you have the dough for Akropovic parts, they are incomparable in design, fit, finish, and engineering. Plenty of less expensive exhausts, yes, but the Akropovic is pure art.

If you're into the Ti burnt tips, look into the HKS for E9x......Cheaper than Akrop and fits well.....
No reason to spend an arm and a leg for an exhaust if the manufacturers know what they're doing. At the end of the day, they're all a bunch of mandrel bent pipes with different mufflers/tips. I'm probably going to get flamed for this comment, but oh well, that's just my opinion. Plus, the more money you spend on an exhaust isn't going to yield you more HP anyway.....As long as it looks good and not like shit, who really gives a shit if it's Akrop or AE or Vanguard? Unless you're looking at the FULL Ti exhaust, then there's not that many options out there, and I think then, Akrop is definitely one of the few available.

No one ever mentions the Meisterschaft exhaust since the scandal anymore. I know about the scandal and have read much about it. Now here is my question. Do they still make quality exhausts? I know the parts come from Korea/Japan but does it really matter where it comes from? One thing I do like about the Meisterschaft exhaust is you can customize the tips. I kind of like their matte black tips and the sound of the race exhaust seems pretty good to me. Has anyone bought a Meisterschaft exhaust after Eisenmann parted ways with them?
