Bluetooth problem
Hey guys i've owned my 07 328i sedan for a year now. When i bought the car it had bluetooth and i was using it with no problems. Now my radio unit was discolored (i posted a thread about what happened but with no real solution) and i decided to buy a used one off ebay. It has the same exact serial numbers and everything as my previous one. For some reason though, this one does not have "Phone" or bluetooth available from the menu. The only difference i notiiced was this radio was produced in march 07 and mine was in february 07. Also noteworthy, my radio has a little blue sticker on the top that this one didn't. So i am guessing the previous owner of the radio i pruchased didnt have bluetooth in his car... am i screwed or is there a way to re-connect or code my car's bluetooth capabilities with my purchased radio.

You might be able to code it.

I have the same year/model BMW, got it 3 months ago, I want to activate my bluetooth, do I go to the dealer to activate it? Or should it be always on? Any monthly's to pay to service/activate?

if you press the MENU button on the radio it should display an option for PHONE. from there on it is very simple to pair you BT with your device. I had the option for phone with my old radio, it is just missing with the replacement one.

Have you tried coding it? Or reinstalling the old radio?

havent tried coding because the local guy has stopped for now... also, the reason i got this one is to replace the old one which was in bad physical condition. I did try to re-install it again though and bluetooth still worked through that one..

There are 2 bluetooth modules. MULF and TCU. The latter also handles BMW Assist.
Maybe the unit you go was programmed for a different bluetooth module. |
