Meh. Looks like a generic, Japanses sports car.

Sorry, but it looks like a NISMO 370Z.
Nothing to see here. Move along, move along. ![]()

Oh look Toyota made an uglier 370Z.
I'm more interested in knowing if Toyota managed to capture any of the passion of a sports coupe. Every Toyota I've been in over the past 5-10 years has been devoid of any emotion. |

Actually looks pretty decent to me. I'm more interested in tech specs and how it drives though.

I happen to love the original look. Seems the above pic has a body kit. I don't think that will be the final product. Let's hope it turns out much better.

Is this the official car? There are like 25 concepts being revealed every week. The black concept with the mesh wheels should be the production car. This looks like a pepboys special.

I like it, but the damn thing has been in concept form for YEARS. Just build and sell the damn thing before the price shoots up! The LF-A took something like 9 years to develop. Which is part of the reason why the damn thing costs $350,000. Toyota wanted to make up for some of the expenses they went thru during the near-decade of development.
Thats what this thing is turning into. No, it won't cost $350,000 but the longer they develop a car that, if you think about it, hasn't changed much at all over the years, but the price is just going to be higher and higher the longer they take to put it into production. WTF are they waiting for??? |

Toyota Ft86 and Subaru BRZ ...nice
I can\'t believe the weight of the Toyota!
Related content ARTICLE Toyota FT-86 leaks online ARTICLE Video: Toyota clears barrier at Brands ARTICLE Post-crunch motor show It\'s been a long time coming. Toyota and Subaru have announced that they\'ll be showing their co-developed Toyota FT-86 and Subaru BRZ sports coupes at the Tokyo motor show next month. Finally. They go on display ahead of their UK launches next summer, and, if the numbers come correct, we reckon they may well salvage both companies\' currently rather dull images. Both get a Subaru-derived flat-four engine and six-speed manual ‘box, with the option of a six-speed auto. Though ticking that one would be unbridled heresy. Output differs between the marques - the Scooby BRZ gets \"less than 300bhp\" while the FT-86 dangles around the 200bhp mark. Underneath, they\'ll be identical, both getting limited-slip differentials and independent suspension. On the outside, they\'ll be differentiated by grills, badges and wheels. The FT-86 especially is designed to appeal to the drifters - the stability control system even allows a dab of sideways before it tells you off. It\'ll be lithe, too - Toyota says it\'s 200kg lighter than a VW Scirocco (around 1100kg). It gets some trick suspension refinements, too - top-spec dampers and Euro-biased handling. Price? Around £20,000. Which seems very reasonable. Details on the Subaru are a bit hazier. But we do know that it won\'t be four-wheel drive and will be a touch dearer - around £25,000, though no numbers have been confirmed - on account of the extra 100-odd bhp. Both sound pretty promising. And we\'ve been waiting a quite a while... But which would you buy, TopGear.commers? http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/Toybaru-coupes-2011-10-19

Sounds quite boring and mediocre, actually. For example, why does it have so much understeer and body roll? Couldn't that have been improved without denting the price or concept? I'm not as concerned about the lack of power as I am the chassis incompetence. Seems like an odd choice. Are owners going to need to slap sway bars and different tires on right away?

It may not be the quickest on the track out of the box but neither is the Miata. I can tell you by experience a Miata with a supercharger or turbo and good tires is a beast on the track. It may be a really fun and capable car with some mods. I'm curious to see its future.
