Am I getting the shaft?

My car is finally here. Just talking over a few of the details with my CA, lease terms, etc. However, by their calculations in their system I would have to pony up $400 EXTRA cap reduction just to get the same mo. payment that the online lease calculators show.

How is this possible? I went to 3 online sites and they were all spot on. But the dealer calcs are higher.

Has anyone every come across this? Am I missing something? I don't want to get ripped off. Advise welcome...

I'm surprised you didn't have the details ironed out before the car was even ordered--unfortunately, they kind of have you by the balls, unless you have something in writing, an email perhaps, that details your deal the way you think it should be. Good luck.

$400 isn't much on the price of a new E9X

Walk away... You live in CA, you have a ton of BMW dealer you should be able to find the car you want on the lot or at least one that is coming in on the boat that is not taken.

If you really want that car, here is what you do. Call up your sales guy and tell him take you for all the work that he has done but you called another dealer who has the exact same car coming in within the next 3 weeks for the original price we negotiated.

All you have to do is create competition between dealers. Even with only 2 dealers in AZ I was able to use this leverage of oh the other dealer is giving me this for my trade in ___ and is offering this much for the new car ____ are you willing to match that price and throw in ____.

I've looked into this before and, as a CPA, was easily able to tell the difference between the online calc and the "real" one...taxes, tags, and fees aren't in the online calcs. How much is cali sales tax? Go for it bro...you've waited this long. I can help review the actual numbers if you want and let you know if it really looks oK...

Thanks all. I've decided to just 'eat' the extra 4 bones. I was lucky enough to negotiate a good enough deal that the CA said, "my manager wants this deal to fall through because we have a list of people willing to pay MSRP". Probably not a biggie in the scheme of things, just found it 'classic' that the dealer's calculations were higher.

Picking up today...
