I'm slowly gathering a bunch of M3 suspension parts to put on my e92 328i:

• Front Control Arm/Tension Strut Retrofit Set
• Aluminum Rear Guide Rod Set
• Aluminum Rear Wishbone Set
• Front Sway Bar Kit
• Rear Sway Bar Kit
• Rear Subframe Bushings

(all parts except bushing are used)

I'm wondering if anyone around has done this or part of it, and where ? Preferably in the PDX area but I guess Seattle might work too. I got one quote and it's pretty clear to me they go by the book so I got sticker shock... and they're a good shop but I guess have not gone thru something similar yet.

Also, if anyone is knowledgeable enough to tackle the job, or parts of it, let me know, I'm sure we can work something out.

Come on, there's got to be people around that have suspension upgrades beyond the coilover upgrades, or ?

I would do it but I'm still in Texas... I'll be up there by then end of the month.

The pain in the butt is gonna be that rear sway.

So did you do all of this before ? If so maybe we can work something out . I think the subframe bushings are the hardest, granted both need to have the subframe lowered.

I haven't done THIS before but I've worked on many different types of vehicles and have a good amount of mechanical experience. I'm actually a Mechanic in the Army so I've done everything from seals/bushings to engines/axles on many, many unfamiliar vehicles. I did the coil overs and BBK on my car and have helped many friends do various other things.
I'm always down to get my hands dirty.

Do you have a bench vice? I have a 40" tool chest filled with hand tools... just no vice, yet.

Op i would plan this install carefully. I did this myself also and its doable a little bit of a pain for the rear sway clamps. You might also need to rent the bushing tool and when you get everything done you will definately need an alignment.

definitely! alignment recommended for any suspension work.

I'm very light on tools (meaning not much, def no vise), so for sure I'm looking at borrowing Harold's bushing tool for the job.

Alignment I know is a must after the control arm swaps. That one will need to go to a specialized shop.

Did some reading and they seem like a good shop. Gotta admit had not heard of them before. Thanks for the tip !

I do prefer to help with any of the work on my car so brett_duenas would be my 1st preference, but I will keep Pro-Tek in mind.

OK, after a couple of delays Brett is currently not in a position to proceed with this job.

So I'm looking again to have this job done, and while I don't have many tools, I have installed the TIS on my laptop and since the sway bars are used the bushings+brackets are already mounted on them (which is one the most difficult things to do). With the bushing tool rented from HP Autowerks it should be looking good, but I need someone with more experience the I have + the tools.

Who is willing to sign up ? PDX or Seattle.

I will definitely make it worth your while.
