The reason the M6 sounds so good is not because of the exhaust. It's the S85 V10.

This can't be for real.

If that's the case I'm getting a F430 tubi exhaust for mine.

Man I was crackin up as soon as I read the first post. The same exhaust will sound different on different cars. The exhaust alone does not produce all the sound. U have to make an exhaust that suits the sound u like within the limits of the engine. Like u could make a custom exhaust, but it will never sound like a 360CS.

This is a very 3 easy step process

1) record a m6 going through all the gears
2) turn the speakers in your car all the way up
3) play the recorded sound as your driving

DONE!

Wow, bet it was hilarious.....didn't realize there were a bunch of fuck stains just looking to write their cute little remarks on a post. My bad for not fully getting this concept. Regardless, this is the idea (the sound) I'm looking for, for my car. Now, if you faceless knowitalls (the smart ass ones) wanna quit looking up porn and interject with some constructive advise on how to get a similar sound (through exhaust and/or an intake), fell free, otherwise kick rocks!

Forums would be no fun if everyone gave real answers without being smart asses once in a while...

But it's finals week and I need a good laugh.

OK, How's this.....

Buy an M6.

You will never get the sound of a naturally aspirated V10 out of a Twin Turbo inline six. It's just not going to happen. Don't get your panties all in a bunch cause you are getting a little grief. It is a pretty out there question.

Now if you are talking about a general type of sound like a nice mellow exhaust note or something raspy people might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Sorry man, not going to fit. The stock M6 muffs are big, you would have to take a hammer to the rear of the E90.

Get an aftermarket for the E90.

BTW, I put a Supersprint on my M6 and I love setting off car alarms!!

Based on your sig-why would you buy a 335 if you have an M6? It cant be for the "fun" or "speed" factor and if you are looking for comfort or a daily driver than also could thing of a 100 more comfy cars. Not getting that?

By the way-do you have one of those Indy car or F1 exhausts? A dude with an M5/exhausted was on the road the other day and at NORMAL slow driving it sounded like a Amplified Tin can-then he revved it and still sounded like a monster tin can but sounded like the really high pitched Indy car sound-TERRRRIBLE sounding exhaust and his would set car alarms-man dont they make civilized exhausts for those M's at normal speed and only WOT they anger up? If not that would be a biatch to drive around

DD or snow is my guess. and not everyone wants a super comfy DD. Maybe they want something softer than an M car, but harder than a lexus.

Master Deep has it right. I need a DD and a car for the snow. (plus I cannot afford the gas for the M6 as a DD - I have averaged 12 mpg since I had the car). I have an Audi A6 4.2 right now but I am moving for the smaller 335xi Coupe because I love the car (emotion beat logic which pushed me to get an X5).

I have never heard a new M5 sound like a tin can.

Here is my car on Youtube (like the license plate?) at idle:

Here is an M5 playing at rest:

Here is a car on the roll (cars sound alot different:

I like the sound of my car. I often turn off the radio to listen to the SMG work....

Hmm got ya-and NO NO yours sounds great! This one I heard I have no clue what he did to it-I mean I cannot even explain it other than to say from a mile away I thought it was a LOUD civic and I then hunted it down and was in disbelief it was a bimmer-than in total disbelief it was an M5 (new one). Man he picked the wrong exhaust.

I would have got a 535 for a DD-I dont think moving from the cabin of an m6 to a 335 would do it-but just me-Nice car too I checked your pics out

Probably the Meistershaft Exhaust.... They are the loudest of the V10 exhausts....

Now we're getting it....Yes, I want the deep, not nec loud, but a nice deep, throaty growl. Almost like when you drop the car in to 1st gear at 2000 rpms, but more and more importantly, when accelerating.

no panties, no bunches.....no worries, just didn't realize it was a "who could be the biggest asshole while waisting everyone's time" contest.
