Why are used Aston Martin's and Maseratis' so cheap?

I've been looking for luxury sport sedans for my wife, now leaning towards an M3, but just for goofs looked on-line at AM's and Maser's at <50k, was shocked to see QP's as new as 2010 with <10k miles going for 35-45k. There are also many V8 Vantages with similar miles and prices. Some of these cars are still under warranty. Are the maintenance and repair costs on these cars so expensive that the used value drops this much? Are that that unreliable? Seems too good to be true.

i am guessing there's no market for them. also big time depreciation. the same goes for 7 series and S classes. you can get them at a pretty good price for only 3 years old

don't let the price fool you... you can find bentleys, astons, maserati's and top range benzes for cheap, but they'll suck you dry with maintenance.

All of those are likely fake or scams. 99% of the "individual seller" listings on cars.com at low prices are scams. If you don't believe me, try contacting them to ask about the listing - I guarantee there is some funky story that requires you to send a small downpayment for shipping or some other nonsense.

KBB puts a 2007 w/ 25,000 miles in Excellent condition at $90K. You could probably assume a hefty discount on that given the market these days. Or if you're willing to sacrifice some quality--- aka you settle for a car in "Good" condition and do some detailing/fixes.

British luxury cars(in general), seem to depreciate more than the typical car. Probably due to the perceived lack of reliability and the availability of parts. Maserati doesn't have a terrific record either in that department.
