Black Lower Grills

I have a question for all of you locals here. I've read a lot about the lower grills for the 335i and noticed that a lot of people just DIY in order to get the black lower grills. Some people have purchased the 328 black grills and have fitted them on the 335i but apparently it restricts air flow?

What have most of you guys done to get the lower black grills or is there a place to purchase them. I have researched EU Design or whatever its called but they are out of stock on modified lower black grills for a while now. Any of your opinions would def. help!

I bought 2-part paint from the local paint store and painted them myself and ran about 5 coats of clear(with hardener) on mine. It's the most professional you can do without buying all new grills.

then again, mine are high gloss jet black; if you want matte black just do that without the clear coat. ^_^

not to mention you are talking about a E92 not an E90, the lower grill is different. On the E90 you can just buy the black plastic bars from a 328 and replace the silver ones on the 335... you cant do that for the E92?

You can replace them with the 328 e92 grills but they restrict air flow apparently for a oil cooler or something like that. I haven't seen them up close, but my guess is that they don't actually have holes in them like the 335i?
