You may want to try HID foglights instead. http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/bmwhidfoglia.html

These will not throw errors on Late May 2007+ models.

LED fog lights will throw error codes, simply because they use so little power, and there's no way you could build a bulb with enough resistors inside to stop the errors, not have it be a heating element, and actually have it throw out light. Even right now, the vanilla LED fog light bulbs simply aren't bright enough to be functional. You would need an external "brick" with resistors to correct the errors for sure

Right now, it just makes more sense to get HID fog lights + build a custom projector housing (TheRetrofitSource.com is a great place to start)

If you're really set on the LED fogs, then get some high-power LED's (5W each maybe?) and drivers and see if you can mod them into a projector. You'll need to take the heatsink sizes, and the driver size, but it's certainly doable. And then you can code out errors. Talk to *********, he built custom angel eye rings (a la OSS) for his E90 Pre-LCI, and they look fantastic! In fact, they were so good, they were featured on the bimmerpost home page.

I have a Jan 07 built E92, am I out of luck?
Do these require any modifications to the OEM housing to make them fit?

No, in fact your OEM bulb is hotter then any HID as they run cooler.

Plug and play.
Not necessarily out of luck as they have had great success with 2006 and 2007 models. You may want to email them to find out all the logistics but I'm pretty sure they will find you a working solution.
