Perfectly Executed Emergency Langding

Boeing's emergency procedures and training of Polish pilots proved excellent.

what prevented the plane from rolling once it landed on its belly w/out any landing gears? I would think that eventually the plane with rock side to side once it slowed down a little and start to roll?

Wow, Sully Junior. Nicely done. Give that pilot a Broken Wing award.

I bet that was the shortest rollout that pilot ever did.

That looks smoother than most of the landings I've had with the gear down

On some planes, especially wide bodies, the area where the landing gear retracts does not hold the same shape as the rest of the plane. On the 767 for middle 3/4 of the plane (fore-aft), there is about a 10 foot wide flat spot. This is primarily for the struts that support the wings. In fact, some planes actually have a wing that transverses the fuselage.

Here's another I recently saw. Pilots very impressive in both landings.

And of course for those that have never seen it:

I'm Polish and have flown LOT airlines dozens of times. Probably the only airline I've been on that it's a custom to clap after a good landing...people were definitely clapping hard that day!

Funny thing is though, the service on that airline is really not that great lol...but Polish pilots are definitely top notch
