Voice Control Option & the Z4F Pricing Rule

Dear All

Just joined the Forum and also just signed the paperwork for a new E92, which has just gone into production.

However, I may have an serious issue regards the option selections made regards Voice Control System.

The following options were selected & appear on the sales order:

609 - Navigation-system Professional
633 - Bluetooth phone prep + Telematics
612 - BMW Assist
Z4F - SA3 Pricing Rule for 620 Voice Control

The following option was not selected & does not appear on the sales order:

620 - Voice Control System

My question is related to the Z4F & 620 options. Do both the Z4F & 620 options have to be selected together in order for the car to be manufactured with the Voice Control system? Or will the Z4F option, override the 620 option and act as an acknowledgement to the factory to install the Voice Control system?

I have a big fear that because the 620 option was not selected, my car will be made without the Voice Control option, which it is entitled to have at £0.00, based on the Z4F pricing rule.

Has anyone received their E92 with Voice Control, where their sales order paperwork included the Z4F option, but did not include the 620 as a specific option.

Any feedback on this would be very greatly received.

Kind regards
LRS

I don't have an e92, but my e90 has pro nav and bluetooth.

My understanding was that the 'rule' meant that anyone selecting pro-nav and bluetooth automatically also selected voice control at no additional cost.

I think this is what you paperwork shows.

Suggest you check with your dealer though for comfort.

As far as I know,

You need to get nav to get the 633 BT & Temematics option, this comes with voice control as standard.

The 644 bluetooth option does not come with voice.

I initially had voice control only on my order but then upgraded to the 633 bluetooth option as that was not much more.

Hi All

Many thanks for your quick feedback.

Needforspeeds, feedback would appear to be the assumption, that if you order: (Sat Nav Pro and Bluetooth + Telematics) that Voice Control is automaticly included. Also when you check these two items the Z4F option is automaticly selected for you.

The concern is that both the Dealer and BMW UK cannot give me a 100% concrete confirmation that by only having the Z4F option selected, will instruct the factory to install Voice Control. Or should the 620 option have also been selected along with the Z4F option?

Below is a screenshot of exactly what got included on the order from the Configurator. As you can see Z4F is selected, but 620 is not.

By the way, this is my second time round for a coupe, before I had a 318ci. Once bitten forever smitten!! Just love those coupes as long as I get my Voice Control!!!

Many thanks again to everyone.

I remember specifically asking the question when I ordered mine & was advised that the Bluetooth with telematics came with voice control.

I won't be amused if it doesn't !

I just used the configurator on the www.bmw.co.uk

This has changed significantly since I ordered my car.

If you selected Pro Nav and Bluetooth on the earlier version it would not proceed unless you selected the 'pricing rule' which gave you voice control for free. It would also stop you selecting the full cost option for voice control.

The current setup is somewhat different. I notice that it won't let you select pro-nav without adding bluetooth. However, it seems to work with or without voice control.

I am pretty certain that the 'rule' you are referring to is simply adding voice control for free. Option 620 can't be checked because this would add it at cost.

However, given the fact that the relationships between these options appear to have changed recently if I were you I would insist on a categoric response from your dealer.

It's not really acceptable that he cannot confirm that he has ordered voice control.

Unfortunatly, my original order only lists the (Z4F SA3 Price Rule for 620Voice Control £0.00) and not the (620 Voice Control System £0.00). Big worry!

Does anyone have an original order that listed Z4F only but when their car arrived, it did have Voice Control installed?

I'm really, really hoping that this is just a BMW ordering system peculiarity and that by having just the Z4F option listed on the original order, the installation of Voice Control is implied and installed by the BMW factory.

A stressful time.....

Big tip on voice control.

Do not speak immediately after the beep.

Wait for the speech icon to appear on the bottom left of the idrive display.

I guarantee that she will understand you a whole lot more.

I've tried that, just can't stop over emphasising my commands.

But she sounds like me mum anyway.

Thanks everyone,

It looks like a fairly safe bet that by ordering 609 Sat Nav Pro and 633 BT & Telematics, that Voice Control is included and installed.

Spoke to the dealer yesterday and they checked the order paperwork for a couple of cars that they ordered into stock, which both arrived with Voice Control installed. The paperwork for these cars listed [609 Sat Nav Pro] [633 BT+Telematics] and the [SA3 Pricing Rule for 620 Voice Control] options. These orders did not list the [620 - Voice Control System] option.

Based on this, Voice Control should be there the day I collect the car, which by the way, should arrive week 23!!!!!!

I look forward to discussing everything with my Voice Control System!!!!

For general interest, this is the spec I've gone with:

325d SE Coupe
Black Dakota leather
Space Grey
V Spoke Style 188 8/8.5Jx17
Elec Fold Exterior Mirrors
Sports Seats
Black trim, high-gloss
Navigation-system Professional
BMW Assist
Bluetooth phone prep + telematics
BMW 6 Disc CD Changer
Hi-Fi loudspeaker system
Anthracite Headlining
SA3 Pricing Rule for 620 Voice Control

All the best

I test drove one with 19"s and found the ride quite hard and found myself fighting to keep the car from following the motorway ruts made by lorries. It became quite hard work and on a long journey, could be very knackering.

I felt the 17"s were a good compromise with the run flats.
