OEM vs Aftermarket Window Regulator
2006 325i e90
So my window regulator just busted for the second time in a year yesterday. Last time it was the rear drivers side, this time rear passenger. Although hearing it break felt like $250 being stolen out of my wallet I figured why not fix it myself this time for $50. So now I am left with which regulator I want to buy. I found these two regulators and I want your guys opinion on whether to stick to an OEM regulator or an aftermarket one. Obviously OEM ones are garbage but have aftermarket companies produced better ones than OEM? Here are the two I've found: AfterMarket: http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-740-481...ar=1&carId=001 OEM: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...gs+Best+Seller Thanks for the input

The "OEM" part listed does not have a manufacturers part number which matches the BMW part number for your E90 it is also an aftermarket option not an OEM part.
The rear window regulators we carry run from the mid 50s to mid 60s in price. We have not had any reports of any issues with our aftermarket MTC window regulators on the E90. ECS Tuning |

Ok, so I have the exact same year/model and sadly with the exact same problem on the exact same door!
Whoa :-O All kidding aside, I'm shopping around now, is ECS the best place to order the regulator? Thanks |

I purchased one from Autozone (they had to order it) for I want to say, around $30. It has a lifetime warranty I believe. Has been working fine for the last couple of months.

so which did you go with? on my previous cars ive used ebay regulators and never had an issue. or at least not too much lol. my rear passenger one just went bad on me today I was rolling the window up and I thought somebody threw something at my car it was so loud lol. I got the window back up but obviously it goes down a little after driving due to vibration, so I gotta get this fixed asap. |
