E92 LCI - M3 Lip Spoiler
Hi all, what is the general consensus on the M3 lip spoiler for the E92? I'm in two minds about it, as I don't want to make the car look like something it isn't (an M3) but I feel there isn't enough going on at the back when compared to the aggressive front.
Here's how my car looks from the back at the moment. Also, how much is a BMW genuine one as opposed to an aftermarket one? I presume it just glues on too? |

I think the spoiler finished the rear end off nicely - looks rather plain without one!

I had exactly the same issue with my 330i the back looked weak. In the end I opted for the performance carbon spoiler and diffuser which gave it a bit more beefage.

Thanks guys. That's helped me decide to opt for a lip spoiler but just need to decide between the Performance and the M3 one. I'm also going to purchase the Performance front splitter as I think it will look great on the front.

Another vote for the SSDD spoiler, mines on a 335d E92, 2007, and looks like a factory part. The E92s boot just doesn't look finished without a lip spoiler (a matter of taste obviuosly) but I didn't see any point in going for anything else. I'll get a pic up if you want, although I'm pretty sure you can imagine what it looks like, isn't rocket science......
Fit and finish are spot on, and it was £100 odd delivered. Colour match is spot on. |

considering the e46 M Sports had it standard its just a bean counter thing why they removed it, was first thing I put back again a SSDD one as it was great deal

If you want a genuine BMW one you could be in trouble, when I tried to order one was told cause mine wasnt an M3 I wasnt allowed one.
In the end went for the SSSD M3 lip spoiler, looks the dogs and is literally exactly the same and colour matched perfectly as they use BMW paint. With the added bonus of it being less than half the price. Im not a fan of the Carbon fibre parts unless you buy them all it looks a bit odd. |

I think this won't be an issue anymore since the Sport Plus came with it as standard.

It used to be the case that to order any parts for a proper M car you used to have to be able to provide a genuine chassis number from an M car. Indeed, unless you were on very good terms with your BMW dealer it was impossible to order the genuine M3 lip spoiler until just a few months ago.

Ditto, although I fitted mine, it was a genuine BMW lip spoiler and painted by my local BMW dealer in 08.

Well, I've just ordered one from our friends at SSDD motorsport. I enquired about the spoiler to be informed it was on an offer. £108 including painting, fitting kit and delivery.
I should have it in a couple of weeks. I think they really finish the car off and the back.

Need to decide between the SSD one and an OEM one, is there any real difference other than cost? What's the cost from a dealer anyway? Many thanks! |

Got mine from eBay for £20
Then got it painted for £15. Fitted it myself with 2 strips of double sided 3m tape (provided) Adds more character to the back end in my opinion. I didnt want to get a bigger spoiler, this looks more inconspicuous and subtly make the back look more meaner. It would look sicker on a LCI model! |
