The changes we heard earlier this season was confirmed delayed on the modification of the Yas Marina Circuit. As organizers hoping the new regulations will help overtaking without modifying the track itself.
Anyone reckon there should be at least three DRS zones here? One on the main straight between Turns 7 and 8, another straight between Turns 9 through 11, and the Pit straight. Actually I hope the DRS activation point on the straight would be just right so its not too long so cars would just breeze by, or too short its ineffective. Two DRS zones would be plenty. The pit straight is too short, and the first corner is too quick, to make DRS useful.
This track has been rather disappointing - looks phenomenal but has races on par with Hungary or Valencia. Perhaps DRS will help this year, but as we saw in Valencia, that is doubtful. |

I agree, the three DRS zones suggested make sense. THe problem I see with having just two, specifically between 7-8 and 9-11 is that if the driver attempting the overtake at 7-8 fails, he is going to lose a lot of speed through turn 8 and 9 and won't be close enough to take advantage of DRS going into 11. But by the time they get to the pit straight, he might be close enough again to give it a shot.
Likewise, they can have just two DRS zones, but maybe have them between 7-8 and on the pit straight. This track is utterly boring. And for me, the graphics on the tarmac doesn't add appeal and is too bright and too crowded. Not sure why, but it bothers me. It will be a more interesting race this year, but not because of DRS, but because the driver's title is done, and constructor point are up for grabs, so your Williams, Force Indias, STRs, and Renaults will be willing to take greater risks....while Vettel fades into the distance in the lead. |

3 is possible but 2 will do. I dont know why but something tells me if LH gets behind Massa again, things could get fun around turn 8 & 9
