Post FMIC Mod Temps? - difference?

Hello,

Curious if any owners (preferrably Cobb Accessport Owners) could tell me what their average temp over ambient temp where before and after with their FMIC modification.

The reason I'm asking I'm averaging atleast 14+F degrees over ambient and it just seems too high.

I rather not upgrade my map if there wasn't a substanial decrease in temps.

Thanks!

14 F over ambient isn't jack. What sort of romp were you giving the car when you got that average?

You're going to be over 14 degrees f if you're doing any kind of spirited driving. For instance, I was averaging about 85f with spirited driving in 60f degree weather. This is with a an aftermarket FMIC. With the stock IC I would probably see 105f. I'm running a procede and not a cobb (not sure how much that matters to what you're looking for).

I'm using a Cobb AP and use an ER FMIC, I usually see temps around 12to14 degrees above ambient with spirited driving. On the track, I've seen lower.

I have the ER FMIC and 14 sounds about normal on spirited/just driving around. Haven't really logged on road course, but can't imagine is too different.

I average the same on the stock FMIC when cruising at highway speed. I did a 1st through 3rd gear pull last weekend: ambient was 53F the charge air was 65F when i started and it was 97F when i shifted into 4th and let off the throttle. Im ordering an ETS next weekend and i'm very eager to see the difference.

What are you guys using for ambient temp? The temp in the middle of the gauges? I have an AMS FMIC and on the highway with either no or light throttle I see charge air temps >20F hotter than ambient. Recently, I had ambient temps (as shown in the gauge LCD) of <55F and my CAT was >75 when cruising. Is this normal?

That said, if I did a pull in 4th, my CAT went very low, bottoming out within 10F of ambient, so I know my FMIC is working under load.

do you have dual cones that could be the reason also with bigger intercoolers you need air flowing through them to reap any benefit

Stock airbox for me. Doesn't seem like that should make a difference at cruising though.
