Gloss black grill question

I wanna get a gloss black grill on my space grey e92 coupe. However will I need to also paint or replace the bottom silver grills and turn them black to complete the look?

What I mean is it usual practice to also black out the bottom grills below the headlight when getting the kidney grill blacked out. If I don't do it will it look weird?

How much will it cost to get the bottom grills painted? Is correct to paint them? (Don't want chipping in the future) or buy new bottom grills? Which option is better and how much would each cost me?

Lastly any pics of space grey coupes with gloss black grills would be awesome.

It's usual practice, and you should do it for the completed look. You can either replace them by buying the parts on Tischer, or paint it yourself by following the DIY guide.

I have a Mineral White E92....I have gloss black grill and had my mirrors covered in gloss black vinyl and the silver blade in matte black to match the black mess down below the bumper.

I posted this pict of my car in another forum for a different reason, BUT it will give you idea how it looks. As u can see it doesnt look horrible but it will look alot better if the bottom was also black.

Thanks for your reply. It actually doesn't look bad in my opinion. The silver kinda blends in with the gray and the black grill makes it all pop off. Do you have anymore front pics so I can make a good comparison with yours and a fully blacked out one. Please help a brotha out!

How much would I be looking at to get a new OEM bottom grill? Can I also order this part at a BMW dealership?

If I purchase the grills at a BMW dealership and I'm out of warranty will they charge me extra to install them?

If I do it I heard it's possible to damage the OEM grill? Is this true or just an exaggeration?

P.S

Nice KGB sig pic

Maybe if you're absolutely wasted, using a flat head screw driver, and doing it in the dark with a blindfold over one eye.

I'm pretty sure that 99.9% of members who've installed gloss black or matte kidney grilles have done it flawlessly. Some might take a while because they have bigger/fatter fingers/hands, but they still do it without damaging anything.

Follow this DIY, Replacing e92 grilles.

NP. As you can see, it's basically 4 screws/nuts and a few clips. It's a piece of cake, really.
