Camaroo's HID
I am about fed up with this kit. I bought literally 6 kits from this vendor. He disappeared off the forums. He is a horrible person even at customer service.
His kit within the first week failed on me. I still bought 3 more from him for all the BMW's in the house. Now my right side was not working so I got some ballasts from Highperformanbulbs but came to find out that its not the ballasts were messed up...its the damm power cable something is wrong with it so my question now is that does anyone have any idea where I can get a good quality HID kit for the angel eyes or should I just get some LED's or what -Mo |

Bought a new fuze box and tap into the line. Few months later the stupid thing didn't work and wanted to work whenever it wants to. Play around more and found out that the cable that goes into the ballast is not attached right over the time period due to heat from engine bay. Yank that out and solder the wire straight in there. Everything works good now. Few more months down the line, the left and right side is in different color. I had 20k kelvin kit. Got a DDM HID H11 bulb and swap it out. Some how that didin't work and not enought juice I think. Therefore swap out Camm. Ballse with the DDM, and everything is working great now. In short is all a nightmare, and my kit is like frankstein now. I'm using DDM bulb, and DDM ballast, but with the Camm. error cancel resistor. Which I believe you can make that for like $50 and all the parts from radio shack. if I would do it again, save your money and by a LUX kit or get the LED conv. |

Well right now I have some bulbs that are Highperformancebulbs and i have ballasts. The damm thing does not seem to work because i believe the fuse that goes by the ground is all destroyed and not because of malfunction the damm thing gets so hot.
The cable that connects into the wire in the driver side is all effed up and nothing turns on the car as far as angel's go. I believe its because of the fuse I want a HID kit though because they are bright, the LUX's are not that bright and can barely be seen in the day time though |

You can use the HPB parts you bought you just need a legit wiring harness. From where I dont know. Perhaps you can rig up what has broken in your current harness? If I recall the camaroo kit is just a combination of wiring, fusees, relays and a generic hid kit.

well back to drawing board. I really am not in the mood to dish out another $250 or something for the Lux.
Anyway i can order replacement for the power cable for that HID kit or no? |

I've been reiterating myself nonstop about this issue. The reason why the ballast/bulbs fail is because of the PWM signal on the angel eyes and all other halogen fixtures in our headlights.
You need to either buy a ballast that was made for our car (aka has a PWM filter and a load resistor) or make a PWM filter yourself. Otherwise, the HID kits you buy will continue to have a shotty lifespan. Coding your car and changing the PWM frequency to a faster one is NOT a solution. It only hides it. EDIT: An alternative is to wire the ballast directly to your battery and have a bosch relay triggered by a remote source. You can use the wire in your headlight as the remote source and use a resistor to trick the car into thinking your setup is valid. Or you can code out the bulb check system so you don't have to worry about calculating the correct resistor size. Last edited by fdriller9; 11-21-2011 at 02:34 PM.. |

Again guys, the constant fluctuation in voltage from the PWM signal is causing these problems. |

My Alpine HID AE ARE BRIGHT! you can see them even in direct sunlight...
The outer ring like with all kits is never perfect... but i drive with my Dipped beams everywhere so you do not notice it at all... But the inner ring is amazing! |
