Beware of the White Late Model Camry

Start Rant:

Driving along a quiet road in Ardross this arvo and was almost side swiped by this middle aged indian man in a Camry. I swerved to miss him and hit the curb at 60. Front wheels went straight up but the rear caught the drain. Done a nice job too. Meanwhile the c**k head has driven off totally ablivious.

My biggest worry is the allignment. I dno how much play there is on the back of the e90's. Glad the tyre didnt pop though

End of Rant:

Hey mate, I feel for you. A similar thing happened to me 6 months ago, I was in Sydney CBD and a taxi left the kerb into my lane all the sudden and I had to swerve to avoid him, clipping one of my wheels, I wasnt happy.

I stopped to give him a piece of my mind, but I couldnt do much coz he didnt touch my car, so I couldn't send him a repair bill. But the thing is, it is much better to swerve than to have accident and even possible be liable for it depending on how you hit him.

I wished there was a way to get these reckless drivers to pay, or take away their license.

PS- I also almost go T-boned by a young girl driver on wednesday when it was raining here. Good thing I speed up to miss her when I noticed she wasnt stopping, and I was going too fast to stop anyways. Later I saw in my rear view mirror, she did an emergency stop, and was just stopped for a few seconds trying to get her head around it.

Yea ppl just dont take enough care. Driving a car actually takes skill.

I'd much rather a scraped wheel to panel damage hey. Cars are never quite the same after parts are replaced and resprayed.

Cheers

i love(d) your wheels too

Let us know how you go about restoring them too, I would be interested to know how much it costs and how it pans out.

Cheers!

I kerbed a rear wheel which resulted in my car being

out 2mm front left, out front right 1.5
out rear left 8mm, out rear right 1.5

i hit the damn kerb hard as hell lol, drove around like that for at-least 1000kms. steering wheel was left 10~15 degrees when driving straight lol

I feel your pain.. its happened to me before with a reckless indian driver on parramatta road Sydney. Almost rammed my car just because he was in a bus lane and the camera was coming up and I happened to be beside him. I swerved to miss him and luckily there was no car in the lane next to me. Anyways this guy then pulls up next to me and we argue for a bit and then he tells me to go back to my own country in a really strong indian accent!!! Im asian but i was born here in Oz, so my english doesnt have an accent or anything. Im just disgusted that a person with heavy accent will even have the guts to tell someone else to go back to there own country when they were obliviously not from here!!!

If you're planning on keeping it and it was a 90 degree curb and not a smooth one, you should consider getting all your suspesion components checked out man for bends and cracks. Normally in curb impacts, they will replace the arms, rods and links, etc

They are a set of style 189's (stock wheels on 335i coupes) and i had them resprayed metallic grey. Same paint code as the ferrari f430 rims.

Cost 600 to get them patched up and refinished
