"Battery registration" after battery replacement?
Hi, seems modern BMW cars need to tell ECU there is a new battery when you replace it, the process called something like "Battery registration".
My car is 2008 135i and would like to replace the factory battery now, but I found normal battery shops in HK don't even know what this is... Any good battery/garage in HK that can do this step correctly with reasonable price? Thanks in advance. |

I just know this by searching the forum. Seems recent BMW cars have logic to handle new and old battery differently. So if you install a new battery without doing the "battery registration", the car will treat the new battery as old one and somehow shorten the life of the new battery.
If anyone know the detail, pls kindly share and advise, thx~ |

The shop will connect another battery when they change the old battery keep the car running, then you don't need "battery registration". almost all shop can do it, no problem.
